Will be interesting to see which other traditions are upheld as the tour continues.

Heeeeheeee, yes we got lost AGAIN! but sort of made it on time! Firstly, How the hell does Damien do it!! Seriously, after what he just did yesterday (Toowoomba to Brisbane, Brisbane to Melbourne and back to Brisbane and up to Redcliffe all in one day!!!) He had sooo much energy and his voice was PERFECT!! They have the most beautiful piano on stage and Damien really goes at it when he sits behind it! We got there late as we knew the show wasn’t starting until later, (didn't help that we got lost ) and didn’t realise that there were 2 support acts! So we missed the first one, but caught the 2nd one. I actually can’t remember their names, it was 2 guys, one on drums and the other guitar! When I first saw the drums on stage, I nearly wet myself as I thought they were for Damien! LOL. Then Bella kindly tells me they were the support acts! They sounded ok actually, only sang about 4 songs. I’m not going to tell you all the banter/jokes etc that went on, as your turn is coming! Haha. But OMG he could have been a comedian! Damien just cracks me up with his story telling and jokes etc. The venue wasn’t sold out, as there were a couple of empty seats still, but pretty close to it. We didn’t have interval as Damien didn’t start until 9.30pm. He did a signing after the show! Woohooo, so heaps of people lined up to get a signed Cd. Indi also had her cd there to sell. We couldn’t take photos, so I only managed to get about 4 and got told to put my camera away! Haha. The thing with this place is that the lights are really bright on stage and not very flattering to Damien. The setlist: Remember June To Get to You Beautiful (this is amazing on piano) Unordinary World Horses? Annies Song Wicked Game/irish jig Crying (Damien asked for requests at this stage and no-one called this one out..haha, but he sang Crying) Unchained Melody 22 Steps (someone in the audience asked for this) Fields of Athenry Irish Rap (Hilarious) Danny boy (dedicated to his friend Tina who was in the audience ;D) All I want is you Goodnight I don’t Like Mondays (piano) Golden Line (AMAZING on piano) Hellalujah I thought there was another Irish song in there, but not sure, so we could be missing one? After most songs Damien then jammed with Indi or Jimmy, and sometimes I wasn’t sure if they were going into another song or not, it kind of works on some songs, but I think there was a bit too much of it sometimes. For me the setlist is a bit slow and would much prefer more upbeat songs.

Thanks for the report Roxy, I agree I prefer upbeat too, but I guess we will listen to anything as long as Damien is singing it , I'm glad you had a good night, are you off to Caloundra tonight?

Bahahahahaha! Trust you Damienites to get lost! That's funny! But glad you found the venue! How was the crowd at this one Roxy? And WOOOOO SIGNINGS! How awesome I agree, the set list needs more up beat songs! They should've chucked SYA in there! Damien surely knows that always goes off at concerts! BUt like Princey said, I will listen to anything Damien sings as well ;D

Sorry, my post sounds a bit blah, but I am feeling so exhausted! Not sure why as we didn't have a massive night at Toowoomba and same with last night, so both nights were around 12.30pm bed times, not sure if I'm coming down with something, I hope not. Not to mention I've pulled a leg muscle and am limping all over the place! I feel like 110 today!! No I'm not going to Caloundra tonight, which I'm kind of glad for, as I said above, I think I need some serious sleep or something Vicky and Bella are both going. Vicky won the Auspop tickets so she is going and Bella is going with her BF ;D The crowd were really good, they were so appreciative of Damien and I think most of them would of been at the last show too, so it was a good crowd. It must be quite hard to sing songs from RJ though, as the album would sound so different to the accoustic versions, and alot of the crowd wouldn't know the songs yet. Singing SYA I think might not work? but in saying that, I think most of the songs IF done on Piano would be ok! Damien really belts it out on the piano, and at one stage he even put his leg up on the piano! I remember at Toowoomba that he was going hell for leather on the piano at one stage that I thought he may have forgotten we were there! I wanted to call out, umm we're all still here! it really was funny, and I just love seeing him get into it like that! Both shows so far have been fantastic and I can't wait for Vicky Point, although sad as that will be our shows over with! How bloody fast did that go!

Great report, thanks Rox. It's really interesting to read your thoughts on the show and the setlist. Loving the idea of D banging away on the piano and becoming so engrossed he is elsewhere in his head. Now that's a muso! ;D and hearing that his voice is sounding superb, especially after such a hectic day like yesterday. Loving too that he's full of energy and that teh banter and jokes are hilarious! ;D He's such a great comic on stage, I think he doesn't realise how funny he can be! (I'd like to hear him using that cracking sense of humour in interviews a bit more, just quietly.) So glad he sang Golden Line, what a brillliant song! and I Don't Like Mondays! I tend to agree that I'd like to hear some more uptempo numbers as well, but I guess he's still working the kinks out of his set for this Tour. You've heard some awesome songs. ;D. the Irish rap sounds so intriguing! Gotta hear that one! Rest up for Victoria Pt. Sounds like you need it.
