What a nice surprise I had opening up my newspaper this morning - an interview with Damien about his upcoming gigs. I've tried to find this on the newspaper's website, but without any success, and unfortunately I don't have a scanner at present - maybe one of my fellow Damienites might be able to scan the article on to the board? In brief: Damien is doing gigs at Star City, Sydney, on February 21 & 22. He says he wants to repay the fans for all their support over the last few months. Doing gigs is what he loves the most, and he can't wait to perform. And, Damien will be testing out some of the new songs he is currently recording for the new album: he wants to gauge the audience's response. Because of the continuing success of 'The Winner's Journey', the dates for the release of the new album and a full national tour have been pushed back. It's now likely Damo will release a new single in late March or early April, and an album in late April. Damien is tickled pink at the success of TWJ - and the journalist Christine Sams says it's likely it will be at No 1 on the ARIA charts for a 6th week. Dededom and others: feel free to add to this, amend it, scan the actual article etc. P.S: also in the Sun Herald today, another mention of Damien being made an Australian citizen on Thursday evening at the Australia Day concert in Canberra, and he's doing the song 'Tenterfield Saddler', as we all knew.

What a nice article Sunshine. Thank you. I don't get the Sun Herald so it was good to read it here. I am sure someone will be able to do as you have requested.

If he wants to thank us, then why not do the gigs for free?!!! he he he he. Great article and I think it's a great idea to push back the album release a little given the success of TWJ. Thanks Captain Sunshine, Super Sunday Slooth.

ahtobesure, I agree: I'd prefer Damien takes as much time as possible to get the album 100% perfect. ;D What I forgot to add from the article: Damien will be playing a lot of the new songs at the gigs, and the audience reaction will determine if these end up on the new album.

Moderators: as Hyperrune has scanned the actual article and posted it in another thread, my thread here isn't required anymore, so delete it with my permission. ;D
