Just want to highlight that D said last night that this song is his Hallelujah. and his favourite song off the album. The lyrics are in the novel Remember June also, (with a slight modification, I gather). I adore it and have already posted my feelings about it in the album thread. Feel free to join in, as I know many of us feel the same way about this amazing song.

There's no doubt the album version is absolutely stunning and to DIE FOR! But hearing it live is truly a different and emotional experience. I don't know what it is about it but it just pulls at your heart strings. I know it does for me

Totally agree, Krissy. Damien sings this song live at the keybooard and it is stunning. The cry in his voice is amazing and I find myself blubbering. He said it is a song about hoping that someone will rescue you from lonliness. It absolutely slays me. I think it's possibly the best song he's ever written.

I have to agree with you all. When I first heard it I cried, and always get choked up listening in the car, especially knowing what motivated Damien to write it.. when I think of those poor buggers down the mine it just brings the reality home and the lyrics are just what I imagine they would have been thinking. Live... well, what can I say - it was superb!
