I'm completely under the spell of this song. I have it on constant repeat currently. It is so evocative to me of circusses and side-show edginess. D's voice is hypnotic and the melody is almost French folk-sounding, in 3/4 waltz time. It evokes old black and white movies for me as well. It's like a fantastical dream, and I see the PlasticMan and Girl dancing, (waltzing, naturally) dining and loving. Then the sad final lines of the lyric hit me. No-one does poignant emotion like Damien! I love this! It's so different, I know it won't be to everyone's taste. I bet D and Ilan had fun writing it.

Doesn't do it for me That's cool, Braff. Like I said, and D has said lately, some things appeal to some people and not others. It has resonance for me and appeals to my sense of the weird, I guess. We're all different.

I think haunting is a great way to describe it, Krissy. I'm glad we agree on this one. ;D I'm actually kinda obsessed with it atm. I can't get it out of my head! I love the mental pictures it conjures up. I like the fact too that the lyrics are so open to interpretation and that they don't rhyme. So different!

We're all different. I have been thinking about this today and I guess it is just my personal preferences for songs and styles of them. Some of you know that there is a particular song that I don't care for too much on the Catch The Wind Album (although I do like it when I hear Damien sing it live). There is also another song on the Where We Land Christmas bonus CD that I cannot stand AT ALL. I think Plastic Man is in the category of that particular musical style and it is just me who doesn't like that style. Others love it. The song on CTW I don't like from memory is your favourite Trilly, so there we go. We love most things but don't like them all.

I heartily agree with you Trills and Krissy.... I just love Plastic man. I can't stop listening to it either... and "Harry" and Hallelujah - I have NEVER heard Damien sing Hallelujah so beautifully, it sends shivers up my spine. Harry and Plastic man are two songs which you just immediately like, second listen, love, and after that, absolutely smitten. That voice on Plastic man, so mellow, so cool, so enchanting. It's just out of this world. So you see, I really like it The lyrics are haunting (some may say a little unrealistic) but one can put whatever interpretation they want and it's very clever of Damien to even think of this topic to write a song about. I was going to ask did anybody know if these are two new songs or maybe has Damien had them on the back burner for a while. They are certainly worthy of release and being with Hallelujah and FF they should get him a number of new fans. There I go, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, (sorry)

I've had this album on constant repeat too, I love the song 'Harry', the rockier, upbeat sound suits me perfectly, 'Plastic Man' is growing on me more & more each time I hear it. And off course Forgive Forget is an awesome song, I agree with everyone else this version of 'Hallelujah' is the best one I've heard, I get spine tingles everytime I hear it Yep Damien, you've got me again

Lovin the 2 new songs (and Hallelujah) Harry reminds me a bit of the releaf stuff that was on here ages ago Plastic Man is quite different. If Damien wasn't singing it probably wouldn't do as much for me but I love his "different"

When I first heard Plastic Man on the vlogs I wasn't too keen on it but having heard the whole song now it's really captivating me. I didn't warm to it initially as a whole song because of it's unusual tones - minor keys(?) and I think it's in a waltz rhythm(?) - please excuse my ignorance - I'm working from Yr7 music lesson memories!. PM's so mesmerising because it's really quirky and I just want to have another listen each time! (Why do I think of spooky Tim Burton movies when I listen to PM??) Yes, it definitely is growing on me very nicely. Both Harry and Plastic Man seem to fit well into my idea of songs from a musical play. I really like the chorus on Harry... I hope you feel okay and the narrative style of the verses. Damien's vocal control in Hallelujah really is as good as it gets.. excellent. Not sure about the musical accompaniment though - the tinkly sounds/effect which bothers me somewhat. I love the simple guitar acoustic and lower range violin - like how it's finished on the EP. That's just my opinion - I really enjoy hearing others' enjoyment of this and all the songs. Isn't it just wonderful to have a beautiful version of Hallelujah, finally, to keep without all the applause of the live versions? I haven't mentioned Forgive Forget yet cause I know I've raved about this song elsewhere. It really hasn't lost any of it's energetic appeal and passion to me despite me playing the album for months! ;D I think this EP is being totally underpriced though. What a bargain for such a gem. This Ep really shows Damien's range of musical tastes and talents.

Agree Nuffy.. it is to cheap and therefore undervalued. It's an exceptional EP. Just wondering if anybody can tell me (you know I'm dumb where these things are concerned) - I downloaded the four songs from iTunes and they are on my iPod, but I wanted to burn a copy onto a CD to have in the car. It copied, but won't play, and I understand that's because it's a MPEG. Can I get the whole four tunes on a hard copy? or is there some way I can burn them onto a CD?
