Now I know this article isnt about Damien - but heres a fact to bring a smile to your dials...
if Teddy Geiger HADNT won that MTV award, then the good folk of Rochester NY would never have heard of Damien Leith:

(April 30, 2007) — A world-wide Internet vote gave Teddy Geiger the “Spankin’ New Artist Award” Sunday at the MTV Australia Music Video Awards.
Geiger, who was at the show, won it for his single “For you I Will (Confidence).” The 18-year-old Pittsford singer-songwriter performed the song live at a baby grand piano in the midst of an indoor rain storm.
Also nominated in the category, which goes to the best single by a new artist, were Stephanie McIntosh’s “Mistake,” Lily Allen’s “Smile,” Damien Leith’s “Night of My Life,” the Lost Gospel’s “Secret Agent” and Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.”
The show was a hectic break for Geiger, who will be returning to Connecticut to finish recording the follow-up album to his debut, Thinking Underage.
