Thought it might be time to start a thread on this song - people who aren't keen on Plastic Man seem to love this one, though! Personally, I love both! I'm fascinated to know who it's about, what the story is. As I listened to it the first time, I thought it could be about a conman; then I thought 'a politician'... then I realized 'hey, it sounds like it's about a singer, it could be semi-autobiographical...' I wish I'd asked D at Kotara! I love the sound and drive to this song, especially the opening guitar intro - so beautiful! The way it's a rock-driven ballad, it reminds me a bit of another B-side, Who You Are (I love that song, and it has a similar feel) Story-wise, it reminds me of Guitar Man, especially the way the crowd will 'find another face'. For whatever reason, I love this song! ;D

It also reminds me of Who You Are. This song was recorded in Dublin.
I love my EP physical copy of this. Somehow, my ITunes download plays differently.

And me I love the way Damien sings 'Harry', I wondered if it could have been about a singer too, but it doesn't matter, I absolutely love this song

Aah, now all you Harry lovers might stop posting in the Plastic Man thread.. I like it too..it's catchy and sorta later Beatlsish to me. I like the opening line" Harry's got a new job keeping secrets"...espesh! ;D

I think this song could be about "Harry Houdini". I so love it. Hey, I hadn't thought of that! That works really well - the 'keeping secrets' part, and the crowds. The only 'Harry' I could think of was Harry Nilsson. Or Prince Harry. Neither of which really work

OMG Bella, according to D in the webchat, you're right! When I listened to it again, it seemed so obvious! What a story! Such an awesome song!

Hype, funny you and I both asked D about Harry. I just needed to know. When I first heard the song, I had an idea who it was about and as I listened to it more and more it just made sense. ;D

Also, Damien said it was written about 8 years ago.
It was recorded in Dublin and that is probably why it reminds us of Who You Are.

The only 'Harry' I could think of was Harry Nilsson. Or Prince Harry. Neither of which really work Or Harry Potter! Maybe D's branching out into Wizard Rock. ...or not. I love Harry! (And Plastic Man. ) Am not surprised that it was written about 8 years ago. You can tell by listening to it. Wow, Bella, good job picking up on that!
