Dede was there and got the winner's card? How did that happen? I've never heard that story before. Me either Thanks for that link Braffy, awww the memories, that was a fantastic moment. I have to add too, that The Mother's Day tribute from Damien was a very special thing too, it is so nice watching it and seeing so many familiar faces. I agree with you Braffy, I wonder is Damien realises how much those little waves and acknowledgements mean to us. Another moment that a few of us will remember was when the Melbourne & Adelaide Damienites travelled to Ballarat, Damien mentioned to the audience how we supported him and really made us all feel so special.

I remember seeing a photo of Dede or her brother's hand holding the card saying 'Damien Leith'. I wasn't aware that she got to keep it. I just found the pic: And yes, Princey I remember that. Also on his first time in Adelaide he mentioned the Damienites sitting in the front row

I have so many wonderful memories from the past 4 years it's hard to choose a favourite so I will just list some of them - *My first Sunrise visit in 2006 shortly after the Grand Final. This is where I met BG, Dede and Ozbrat for the first time and (my first Damienite meeting in 3D as Tina would say ). I'll never forget the excitement as we stood in line waiting to meet D in the flesh and how chuffed we were to have our photo taken with him ;D *Blacktown (day after Sunrise). This was the first time I saw D perform live and I'll always remember the chills I felt when he sang Wicked Game This was also my first meeting with Braffy *Star City Feb 2007. The first time we packed out the front row and the first time we got to see D in concert - and I got to meet D and Eils backstage as well! *Star City Nov 2007. The biggest gathering of Damienites at one show - what a night! *Damienfest 2008. I will never forget what a brilliant time I had with all the Damienites this weekend - all topped off with a very special message from the man himself *The Basement June 2008. Poor D was so sick but you would never have known it A brilliant show in a lovely intimate venue - and Wicked Game with an Irish twist *Listening Party 2009. I will be eternally grateful for being lucky enough to be a part of this night. When I opened my eyes and found D sitting next to me I nearly *State Theatre 2009. How amazing it was to hear RJ for the first time live with the band I have a feeling I will be adding another event to this list after the Brass Monkey

My favourite Damien moment(s) are many! Firstly, my sister and I were Idol fans so I saw his first audition, I liked him before he even sang! I said to my sister, "This guy is Irish! I hope he wins!" then of course, he sang and WOW! We voted for him every week until he won The first time we met him was in 2011 at the Belmont 16 Footers. I was so excited to hear that he was doing a meet and greet We were the first ones out in the corridor but we kind of 'accidently' let everyone push in ahead of us so we could stand in line longer to listen to his accent, haha! When we finally got to meet him he said "Look at you girls standing patiently in line there, while everyone is pushing in!" He had a bottle of Guiness he was casually swigging between fans. We got our tickets and my copy of 'Remember June' the book, signed, then got a lovely photo. The second time we met him was this year at his Nelson Bay gig, I've put the story on here already, but I was just buzzing when he knew me from Twitter Beccie (my sister) took a photo of me and Damien, the I took one of Bec and Damien, but the one I took of them came out all blurry as I was shaking so much with excitement! I'd love to post the photos here but I can't do it from my iPad (I don't think anyway) and my laptop is being mean and freezy at the moment. But it's so good to read all of everyone's lovely encounters with Damien, and it's so great to share mine as well

Nice moments Catchy, you must live up near Newcastle, Damien is lovely to his fans everytime, that's why we love him so much it's funny, a lot of us often let others in the queue before us just so we can listen to that lovely Irish accent and watch perve on the man

Haha, it's so wierd that the whole time on Idol and up until only a few months ago, I never had an actual 'crush' on Damien, even though I was crazy about his music and his accent. Then I just suddenly went 'Oooh! Ok!' I'm so glad I'm not the only one

That's a great story Catchy. Don't give up on putting the photo up. Look it has taken me a few years....lots of help from DLO members...including Princey and Braffy ....trying to teach me how to load photo's. Very patient they have been too! I hope you get to go to one of his shows whilst he tours. Ditto to Princey......he is such a nice guy.

Yes...Catchy Damien is the best and kindest to his fans..or supporters...lol..My favourite moment was in Oct 2010 during the release of Remember June my absolute fav..lol..My hubby and I went to the promotion in the State Theatre in Sydney, we decided to eat in the Restaurant next door and as we were waiting to order we heard a ruckus over the other side with a group of people..sitting down etc..I casually looked over and it was Damien Eric and some of the band..lol..and as soon as he noticed me..he came straight over to give me a hug and say hello..my Hubby had no clue who this young man grabbing his wife.. and then he clicked..haha. I then introduced him to hubby and said bye see you later..and then suddenly they all then left..lol..to eat somewhere else as with me..being there maybe a few more would also show and it would've been mayhem..pmsl.. So I said to my Dh that is one of the reasons we love Damien and the other is his buns of steel and gorgeous voice.. Be kind to yourselves and take care xxo

Haha Anny... buns of steel indeed! Every moment relating to Damien is my favourite, there are so many, but I think the top was at the Brass Monkey earlier this year when he sang Happy Birthday to me. I owe a huge thanks to Maria who took me for my 70th birthday and who had a word in Damien's ear that he had better sing it for me!! 2Damien fans recorded it and sent it to me on DVD so I have this wonderful memory stored on my computer, so I will be eternally grateful to them as well. He's such a warm, loveable guy. We know he is already taken and just smitten with his wife and beautiful family, but still can't help loving him for the wonderful person he is, his kindness, his genuine appreciation of his fans and the voice of course, could die for it! Damien, you are just THE BEST!!

The hi -light for me was when I was messaging Damien...could he please say happy birthday to Gloria, it was a special birthday........no reply . I was taking her up to Sydney on a birthday weekend and she so needed it. Damien please say happy birthday to Glawzy.......I had given up I think. We Met up with Dawn also Braffy who could not attend show and got to see Spud and the 2 Damien fans,Brian too at the actual show. Then sitting there at the show and he sang Glawzy Happy Birthday! His kindness, his taking note of a fans request for someone special ...he knows and cares about all. There is not a lot of artists that take the time to read or listen between the lines. I will never forget how I felt when Damien sang to. Glawzy.......he listened he heard and he truly cared. We had a fabulous weekend and I truly. Did not want it to end. That's why Damien is a little bit special....he is a real person...who does care. His music us to just "die for too"..... Voice if an Angel..........

My other favourite story was my first meet and greet. Thank you to the DLO'ers in the early days at Milano's. The introduction was "Damien meet my Damian"........ It was so funny! I could not even speak after that....the 2 boys started up their conversation.....I was speechless as totally "Awe" struck with first meet......have no idea what they spoke about........
It was a big thank you to Di and Princey who told me to stay back and meet D.....and also take my first pic too. Nice one of "D" terrible one of me.
I bet everyone has a story.....he is such a nice guy.....but we all know that!
