Damien Leith Announces 'Songs Of Ireland' Tour

Let Damien take you on a journey with Ireland's most love songs!
Following his critically acclaimed show "An Irish Journey", at this year's Adelaide Cabaret Festival and his national "Keys & Strings"tour, Damien Leith will perform a traditional Irish 'session' singing Irish Songs both new and old.

"Songs of Ireland" will include songs such as: Rocky road to Dublin, Danny Boy, Galway Bay, Fields of Athenry, Dublin in the rare Auld times, Raglan Road, The Parting Glass, You raise me up, The Wild Rover, When you were sweet sixteen, The Auld Triangle to the hits from U2 , Van Morrison and Damien Rice.

Not surprisingly, Irish music has played a huge part in the life of Damien Leith: growing up in a very musical family, he was treated to traditional songs for as long as he can remember. No wonder that when he started singing and writing, that rich heritage became a vital source of inspiration, contributing to his musical success. "Songs of Ireland" is a show not to be missed.

Odd to be selling tickets to these shows before they announce the type of show he will be doing Of course any music would make me happy, but some of my friends who I have convinced to come along, may not be planning for an Irish night out!

This is my kind of show!!! i have studied all those songs...even the U2 ones and to hear D singing them would make those long friday 10am lectures just a distant memory!!!

Some beautiful songs in that list Would love to hear Damien singing Galway Bay one day, still can't believe how I was just in the next room that time listening to a support act - but if I'd stepped outside for a drink would have heard him singing it there in the courtyard last St Pat's day! It's such a beautiful wistful melody, I love all those sad sorts of gorgeous lilting songs, really looking forward to hearing him sing it!

Really love how there's some old songs and some contemporary ones with a good blend across the eras and Damien no doubt stamping them all with his beautiful arrangements. Damien's version of Raglan Road blows every other version I've heard out of the water, so glad he's kept this one on the list too!

It's a nice idea he's taking a moment in time to reflect on his musical heritage, should hopefully be a great success for him, looking forward to hearing these. Would love to hear some Damien Rice and U2 ones we've never heard before as well as the favourites, there are so many that would also be amazing in Damien's hands!

I like Irish music.. but it's the more modern stuff that has me wishing a trip to WA was on the cards! I'd kill to hear D sing U2, Van Morrison and Damien Rice ..in the one show! Unfortunately, it ain't gunna happen and no deaths are planned.
