I was listening to Kara Kidman's TV segment on the radio and she made some passing comments about the Idol Grand Final and described it as "where we will see that girl from Alice Springs beat Mr. Potatohead". Now I've always disliked this woman (about as much as I dislike Megan Spencer). She's got an annoying voice and very cynical. But now I dislike her even more because she really showed her ignorance. I can't stand people who criticise things they hardly know anything about. Jess isn't even from Alice Springs, and she mentioned twice about "The Irish Mr. Potatohead". Hasn't she even heard him sing?

Who's she to talk about looks. I wonder why she's the only one on the triplej website who hasn't got a photo of herself up.

This Grand Final isn't about "whoever loses means they're crap."

I've had a yucky start to the day and I have a stomach ache. grrrr.

Petty people like that are insignificant. It's people like us who can support each other and support Damien - whoever wins, at least we gave him our support, and we all had a good time.

What a moron. Actually, most of the Triple J presenters seem to be morons. Wasn't it someone from Triple J who made that crack about Slim Dusty (who had died only a short time before) winning something at some music awards ceremony? Sometimes it's like they live on a whole other planet where everything they say is the epitome of wit. I don't mean to attack people who listen to the station because I'm sure there's good music and decent people who love their music on there, but, as with everything, the loud and arrogant sector spoils things.

I always thought the idea of having a station like Triple J was to open people's minds to alternative music, stuff that doesn't necessarily get a huge media push. When they have to resort to insults to put down artists who are getting a lot of publicity at the moment, like Damien, they're just as pathetic as that minority of silly Dean fangirls that carried on like spoiled brats for weeks and weeks rather than just admitting that Damien was a better singer.

What I like about what Damien is doing for Australian Idol, and the music industry in general, is that he's showing you shouldn't judge anything by appearances, or until you know all the facts. He's had such a positive impact on so many people's attitudes about what an Idol should be, he's gotten people interested in great music, he's brought music-loving people together in a positive way. Anyone who tries to discredit that is only going to make themselves look stupid.

Yeah, they have been really up themselves lately, I used to love triplej religiously but in the last couple of years they've really been ticking me off. Especially the breakfast show. There are a lot of good things still, mainly in the "off peak" times, like Sunday Nights with John Safran and Father Bob, and Myf Warhust is gorgeous. I listen more to PBS (public broadcasting service in Melbourne) these days for my alternative music.

As the whole of Australia knows, "the girl from Alice Springs" is the beautiful Jessica Mauboy and "Mr. Potatohead" is the gorgeous Damien Leith! We all know who they are but who in the hell is Kara Kidney?? Some ditsy dame who's been given a microphone and has the anonymity of radio to say whatever she wants! Oh the power!

We know Damo has tons of talent and that's all that matters. Lots of people just dislike the show and have never watched it so say dumb things.

Anyway Mr Potato head is quite rich and famous and comes with some cool accessories ;D
