Damien will be performing at
Lizotte's Newcastle 31 Morehead Street LAMBTON 4956 2066
Thurs 3rd February, 2011
Ahead of the release of his highly anticipated new studio album, Damien will perform a limited run of intimate acoustic shows. Playing solo for the first half, fans will have an opportunity to request their favourite Damien songs from any of his four albums & if there's a song that you love but he hasn't played for a while, this could be your chance to hear it. Afterwards, one of Australia's finest guitarists, Eric Aranda, will accompany Damien for the remainder of the show and between the two of them they'll bring the house down! This is a show not to be missed.

Food was wonderful......<<< someone ate too much Damien was wearing a grey shirt with a very fine pinstripe trim, snug ;D faded black jeans and black cons until he ducked outduring the show and changed into a black tshirt with Random ........(something ) and see if you can spot what Jarvis Jagger made and gave him for his birthday Damien came out on his own and explained how nervous he'd been before the show as it was a different format and not one he was used to and sang * ;D Sorry loved it He talked about the heat and how hard it was stepping out of the airconditioned car into the stifling heat and also chatted about how terrible it has been in Queensland but like everyone he was pleased at the unexpected good news Then talked about how it was not long since the anniversary of his taking Australian citizenship and how nervous he had been to sing the National anthem and he had also sung another song * Tenterfield Saddler Then talked about how he was at a party and acknowledged that he as a good looking young man had written that wonderful song *If Tomorrow Never Comes Damien then talked about being in Nashville for his birthday and how he was really pleased with his new album.....had been privileged to work with Barbara Orbison and his new album had an Orbison feel.....Do you like Roy Orbison? Yeeeah. Well now you know where to go (to buy) in March then he talked about how the next song helped him to get to Nashville *Crying Then Eric came out and was introduced by Damien and he talked about how they'd worked together for a long time. *Annie's Song D then talked about how after the headiness of Idol, it was difficult after and one night he looked at his family and decided that they were the most important things in his life and he wrote the next song....one of his favourites, the lovely *Beautiful It was not originally on the Album WWL and fortunately was substituted at the last minute for another song ;D. Then we had Van Morrison's *Crazy Love and * Not Just For the Weekend D talked about a song that he recorded with the incorrect lyrics....Would you like me to have a go at? and he did........briefly Eric said, you usually get further through than that.....D decided to start again and he finished the song with adapted lyrics, some repeated, no help from the audience with what's next and a fair degree of laughing. Eric left the stage and Damien called for requests......My friend and I called out our request several times and he sang (after explaining it was for the ex bf his sister broke up with) * I Still Miss Us followed by another request acapella * Nessun Dorma....but this time there was audience lalalaing along and after Eric came back we had a birthday announcement (the first was in the ladies ) so we all sang happy birthday to Joe and just as they were getting ready to do the next number Pam came back...so we all sang happy birthday Pam

Just as they were about to start D dashed off the stage ....... and came back wearing a black tshirt......if Kylie can do it....... Damien sang *Shine Like the Sun At this point I gave D his new tshirt for being a good boy (Naughty is the new nice) and he agreed that it is Next * Guitar Man/Stairway to Heaven Eric was going to play his favourite song next, but his guitar went out of tune....so didn't happen....then *Alone a very different version too and another request * Danny Boy But he then did that wonderful song that Eils and he sang to each other at their wedding *Creep (yup......he's got a perfect body ;D) Finally *Everybody's Talking and the audience participation They both exited, but came back to do another request *Hallelujah/Sleepwalker Apologies for any errors...but some parts I did twice after Windows was uncooperative They were selling, not sure how many sales, but only 2 copies of OMT by the time we went out......gave Eric a quick hug as he raced out to do the selling. We were talking about thesongs and again D mentioned how some of the RJ songs don't lend themself to an acoustic rendition and yes he does have to do the most requested songs. At this point in time the "band"(rooty hill) has been booked for the first BM show, so there will be percussion....I kind of mentioned With or Without You (which he's not keen on doing) but I still live in hope for Princey and I Loved hearing so many songs from WWL. Still....hoping for a couple more with the bigger backing. It was a great show, a lot of fun and there was a huge queue after the show. The audience was a mixture of ages and sexes and I managed to let a few people know about D's other shows in the Hunter. Will put up a couple of pics but the lighting was difficult ::)Thanks Damien for the hug, kiss and chat and the wonderful show....a pretty full house for a hot Thursday night, Anny came down to say hi and bye before they headed back to Sydney ;D Just remembered that D talked about Jarvis starting school and how he was like (looking at them both) okay, you've got me to this point so
