If Sony had asked DLO members to help with the choice of the release of a single from Damien' albums what would you have chosen and least chosen. TWJ Crying/Hallelujah---Studio recorded WWL All I want is you/Beautiful CTW Annie's Song/If RJ Golden Line/See you again NOT CHOSENTWJ Celebration WWL 22 Steps CTW Universal Soldier RJ Nil This will never happen but If I were the artist I would sure like to get feed back from people who really care. before the single was selected

Gee Brian, I would have to pretty much agree with you on your choices.
I love pretty much all of Damiens originals, so I would have liked to have had a 3 song CD from The Winners Journey adding Sky to your chosen songs of studio recorded Hallelujah and Crying..
Not Chosen: Come To Me (unfortunately I have never really taken to this song)
Where We Land - Beautiful (definitely) and All I want Is You or Not Just For the Weekend (which could have cashed in on it being the theme song from the TV show Saving Kids). Second single off the album would be Shine Like the Sun with I Still Miss Us.
Not chosen: 22 Steps ~ (There should have been more faith by the record company in the other songs Brian and I have listed)
Catch the Wind I like most of the songs so I would say Vincent and Annie's Song mainly because this was a covers album and those two songs are very well known and Damien does them justice.
Not chosen: I will get howled at for this by some on here, but - Baby I Love Your Way *ducks*
Remember June This is a brilliant album where all the songs are incredible. I agree with you on Golden Line and See You Again. Followed up with To Get To You and Don't Give Up. Goodnight could be a bonus track on either of those.
Not chosen: Are you kidding? NONE!

Interesting Brian, although I don't agree with all of your choices. I think it's interesting to speculate re potential sales, not just on personal preferences Chosen to release: TWJ -none, since none of the songs on the album are the full versions. However, if D had studio recorded specifically for it, I think it would have been hard to go past Crying/Hallelujah as you suggest. Or perhaps Message To My Girl. I've always been a huge fan of D's Come To Me and was extremely happy that it was on the album. WWL - Beautiful, without a doubt. I think it's the best song on the album, although I'm always partial to Alone as well. It is always hugely popular when D sings it live. CTW- hmm, more problematic. I agree that Annie's Song has always been popular, but personally I am not a fan, it's way too saccharine for my taste, however, plenty of people love and request it. It probably would have done well. If the choice was for my taste and broad appeal, I would have chosen Baby I Love Your Way... soo sexy! Remember June- I so wanted Golden Line as a single, from the first time I heard it.( The choice was always between it and TGTY, IMO.) Just a totally brilliant song. I agree that any of them were good candidates though.. PS: Brian, we usually ran a poll of DLO members re singles with each album. Maybe if Sony had listened a tad harder..

Haha Trilly, I have an mp3 version of Golden Line, from the first time we heard it (at Lizotte's), and at the end I can hear you yelling out "Damien, that's gotta be the single!" And I agree, it should've been released as a single, along with See You Again. Oh, and I would've liked Beautiful and Cold Cold Heart to be released from WWL. Braffy, I can't believe you don't like Come To Me!

Chosen:-
TWJ - Studio recorded "Crying". I also like "Sky".
WWL - "All I Want Is You" / "Shine Like the Sun"
CTW - "Guitar Man" / "Wild World".
RJ - Definitely "Golden Line". Perhaps even "Don't Give Up".

Even with the responses here it shows how varied our tastes are but the overall effect is that we all love Damiens music. Some songs more than others.

These are my choices, not based on potential sales, but what I like. TWJ: Studio recorded FULL verions of: If Tomorrow never Comes, Sky, Never Meant to Fail, Message to my Girl. WWL:Beautiful, All I want is You, Shine like the Sun, Not just for the Weekend, Alone CTW:Longer, If. Definitely not Annies Song or Danny Boy RJ:Definitely Golden Line, Unordinary World, Stay, See you Again. Yep Braffy,it is amazing that even in our group there are different opinions. I think that's great! It just means that we know all of Damiens' songs are sensational

Shims, I as just listening to "Wouldn't Change A Thing" in the car (up nice and loud!) and musing on what a brilliant single it would have made as well. The gorgeous tones of D's voice, the falsetto pyrotechnics to accompany the lovely lyrics and the catchy beat are just the sort of thing which draw people to Damien. I still adore it!
