It was a great interview - caught most of it. Alan Jones does tend to make every story about himself though, doesn't he? And when he likes someone he comes across vaguely creepy. Still, there's no doubt a lot of people listen to his show, so interviews like this have got to help. He even played part of You Got It as he wrapped up his show at 9am.

Yes ---Great interview from Alan Jones
I was in the car at the time and pulled over to hear the whole lot.
Alan was doing a open broadcast from Merrylands RSL and there appeared to be a lot of people there at the time.
Alan said to Damien well there is a lot of applause there for you but I suppose you would rather them to buy the CD instead and Damien said Oh no applause is good--laugh laugh from Alan and Damien
Alan played a fair bit on Only the Lonely and he kept saying "how goods this" on several occasions and as Di said with the other tracks he played again " How good is this".
He talked about how Barbara Orbison was the albums producer and again said that this is a great honor or words to that effect on how Barbara thinks so highly of Damien and he mentioned the people who worked with Damien in America including "Pink" but however I missed the connection with "Pink".
Damien mentioned a few times how lucky he was with getting the album together but when he said again how lucky he was the have the McClymonts appearing on "Blue Bayou" Alan stopped him by saying Damien is is not luck that these things have happened you have made it happen by your talent and hard work.
Damien also said that he is dreadful at dancing at the moment and that Mel is being very patient with him and all his mistakes.
Finally Alan wished him well with the dancing but said I wont wish you well with the album because you don't need as the album is brilliant and thanked him for the return of great music to listen to.
Alan played snippets of Only the Lonely earlier and again said Damien will be on shortly and everyone just listen to this --This is superb.

hE WAS ON 702. Great interview. He was on about 4.20 I was driving so not able to take notes. Dancing didn't get mentioned at all, nor new baby. It was all about Roy Orbison and how Damien came to do this album. He sang Crying live and earlier he sang a snippet of In Dreams. This is the same radio show that TGIF is on. Richard Glover mentioned that Damien had been on TGIF a few weeks ago and everyone loved him so they had him back on again. Mentioned the album was coming out this week (not that it was already out). Said how good it was. He said an Idol was singing one of the greatest idols of all time. It was a positive interview. He had people call in with their Roy Orbison moments.

I heard most of the Alan Jones interview. A bit hard trying to get kids ready etc but I agree that it is always about Alan. I have heard a few times now (by Alan) how it was Alan that said a positive thing to Damien after Celebration night and how it turned Damien around.
He has a massive audience. Damien wasn't on until after 8.30 and he was live at the Merrylands RSL. Hopefully a lot will come of that interview. The podcast will probably be up after the weekend.

Another fab interview for Damien ! I can get over how much all these male radio announcers are so in raptures over Damien!!! . I thought it was just all us girls that adored him One of the interviews last week, the announcer said " you're a beautiful man, Damien Leith" I was waiting for the big smooch at the end
