Dalby Flood Relief Concert - 16.4.11

Hi thought I'd share a few photos from the Dalby show Bella, Sis and I went to last weekend!! wow how times flys!

I didn't take too many at all, there were so many great songs that Damien sang that I couldn't sit still long enough to take photos, so I put the camera away to enjoy the show! and ENJOY we did!!












This is a very eager, excited and smitten photographer from Dalby, he is only quite young, and I've never seen such a besotted look on someones face before...he beamed all night long! ;D ;D he had the pure D love going on!!



This man was trying to pull his daughters up to dance! the girls were a bit reluctant at first, but gave in ;D



This guys was in line to get his "greensuit" autographed!! he said he dressed up just for Damien!




This is ToolMan aka Soundman!! If you ever have the unfortunate luck of running into him, he is just horrible!!! ( couldn't get a better photo of him thank god)




and here's something different....We did some sightseeing on the way back from Dalby (hence our 5 hour trip back)


Some cotton just outside of Dalby!! we stopped on the way home to a cotton field just to have a touch and take a photo..








The Warrego Highway....it went on forever!!!



This is Murphys Creek, where the Floods in January claimed lives and left many homeless as the torrent of water rushed through the town, the floods ruined so many peoples futures and as we stood on the bank looking at the (still devastation) we could see the in the trees how far up the water went, there was even a hat left in a tree!!! we counted ourselves very lucky that we weren't affected like that. It was an eerie and sad feeling.

The photos are great Roxy. Even as I was looking at Murphy's Creek an eerie sombre feeling passed over me. What a devastating event the floods were.

Thanks Braffy, and yes it was a horrible feeling, but good to see how much work has gone on since to try to rebuild alot of the damage to the surrounding buildings etc.

We even stopped in at the local school at a Jumble Sale...I brought some spare towels for the dog to help them out. ;D

We had a great time, I'm so glad we made the trip. ;D

As we were standing there on the creek bank, we could feel how moist and unstable the soil still was underneath us due to the flood. The flood waters would have rushed through Murphy's Creek with such force, anyone in its path would not have stood a chance.

Love the shots of the cotton fields. It is good that not all was lost.

The young photographer was definitely in teh coma. He had the strangest look and the biggest grin on this face. ;D I wonder if we looked like that.

That was the best burger I've had in a while.

Thankyou, Rox. You've told a story with your great shots, just like a photojournalist.

I can feel what the atmosphere in venue was like, the fun and quirkiness of the audience ;D (and your reaction to a certain soundperson) as well as D and Eric on stage.

I can also see why they were there, and feel how the countryside affected you three ..and I wanna touch that cotton too!

Thanks Roxy. I guess I had the same feeling as Braffy...and the thought was in my mind the show was for a reason. The pics were great and glad that yourself Bella and Sis enjoyed his performance too. Its great to see there is work being done and although I am down here in Vic I certainly think of all up there and know its going to take time to recover. Growing up on a farm fires and floods are the dread. Thanks for sharing these.
