Currently being recorded at The Wiggles Hot Potato Studios, Dorothy the Dinosaur is back in a completely new series. Once again Dorothy greets her friends and invites them in for a cup of Rosy Tea before welcoming them to her garden. There they sing and dance to the music of the violin, the viola, the cello and the bouzouki as Dominic’s Rosy Orchestra play along. Wags, Henry and Captain Feathersword are regular visitors while Fairy Clare, Fairy Larissa and Fairy Lucia are joined by the littlest fairy, Fairy Maria. Don the Postman (Don Spencer) is another visitor to Dorothy’s home and sings songs he has written just for her.
In other episodes Dorothy and her friends go out and meet new people and have new experiences. Dorothy loves to sing and dance and in this series we see her at singing lessons with her teacher David (David Jobson) and at dancing lessons with Rachel (Rachel Beck).
Dorothy knows that regular health checkups are important and she visits the dentist (Jane Kennedy) and Leo the doctor (Leo Sayer). Jane and Leo use songs and dances to give her important information about staying strong and healthy.
Dorothy loves flowers and she enjoys her visits to Francis the Flower Seller (Francis Awaritefe) where they sing and dance to flowery songs. She visits the supermarket where John the Grocer (John Rowe) helps her with her shopping and is always ready for a song and a dance with Dorothy and her Wiggly friends.
Dorothy likes to read and borrows books from the library where we meet Damien the Librarian (Damien Leith) who helps her choose a book before they sing and dance together.
There are well loved Wiggly songs to enjoy and sing along to as well as some new songs written especially for this series. There’s fun for all as we meet old friends and make new ones in this series filled with friendship, fun, laughter, music and dance.
Dorothy the Dinosaur (Series 1) is due to be televised in Australia this June on the ABC.
