Hey Trilly, good on you, you spartan.
Been having major photobucket problems here, contacting them, updating and eventually did a system restore as the problem is with IE apparently.
Trilly and I also met Roslyn from FB, that was lovely and was great to meet Trilly's DB and DSIL
so glad they enjoyed
My mother also thought it was a terrific show, although she kept looking at Marcia and I chair dancing and would eventually join in, and with Roslyn and friend doing the same our row of seats was literally jumping
Diana was the entree and sang the set list as before, although, found out the second song is actually called War at Heart. Marcia loved her voice, so think will have to buy her CD as a pressie. Must say again how great she's looking, trim, stylish and her hair looks great. M said Diana's whole body becomes involved in the singing, just like Eric's
So: Natural Woman, War at Heart, Songbird, Mirror Mirror, Your Woman, Tuesday and Am I Heading in the Right Direction
Main Course was Damien and the band with Eric, Chris, Cesar and Steve back.
Damien was in his lovely black Jacket,(which marcia took a fancy to, white shirt, black tie and black shiny shoes and after a lengthy discussion M and I decided the black jeans were skin tight/aka painted on (not that I was looking said M
yeah right, well I was
) psttt if she wasn't looking, how did she notice that all others apart from Chris were wearing baggy trousers
The PAC was fairly full, mainly the seats right up the front & on the side weren't and they were fairly quiet initially and conservative.....this audience was older than the one at Belmont, as the show progressed, so did the volume and participation especially after the "other" side of the room, especially the back were razzed for not trying
that was incentive.
Show began:
*Anything You Want
*Only the Lonely
Then there was a discussion on the fact that D's chest hair was growing back
and his tanand six pack were disappearing, but didn't seem to want show that and confessed it wasn't a six pack but a meat pie pack
still not convinced Started to say I grew a .....then he and Eric cracked up laughing as he realised he was about to say moustache and Eric said he had...then D confessed there'd been a lot of talk in the last week about moustaches and he'd taken it in so much, it was popping into his head
D was then saying how his voice had been put under a lot of pressure in the last week doing recordings and voice overs
hmmmmmmm
Then told about recording in Nashville
*Dream Baby
and then how he recorded with the Chilettes
*Love Hurts
For the start of the next song D became more enthusiastic with his one hip thrust to the left, then 2 and then 3 and the windup with rotating hips and thrust
Did I mention we were in the front row, close to centre stage
and the song
*Working for the Man
Next song D was accompanied by Diana
*Blue Bayou
and then a couple of personal songs relating to family
*Beautiful and it always is ( with Cesar doing the haunting intro on the flute) and the Remember June song
*Goodnight
Damien then took off his jacket
accompanied by cheering
from the ladies, but he didn't take up the prompt for more
(off)
*In Dreams was next and Eric started playing the wrong intro, so had to dance.....some great moonwalking
and the lovely song
*Leah, D and the boys do a wonderfully haunting and harmonic rendition of this, then
*Running Scared....into
*Mean Woman Blues
Then the song that started it all
*Crying
finally *Handle with Care
Of course, the Dessert came next, after Steve's drum solo
and a lot of enthusiastic seat dancing around the Centre to
*Pretty Woman
Handed D his gift and mentioned they were just to help add to the act....a book of clean Jokes and a book of Irish Jokes....this book had a very stretchy sticky rubber tongue which stuck to the bottom of the bag and then Damien started playing with it
and then mentioned the reason for that gift as I had heard his Canberra joke (Bula)
Asked if the audience would like to hear one, so he read one out.
Suddenly D remembered that Steve owed us a dance.
The reason for this and there seems to be a new rule in the group (not to show up the other members of the band) as Steve had been away in Macau and was really missing his gf, was sending lovey dovey messages to her on FB so much so the other partners wanted to know why they weren't getting similar messages
Steve is known as the sweet guy
So Steve did his dance, but I got the feeling that Eric had stolen what he was going to do
*Hallelujah and
*Going Home
Rousing Applause and some standing applause.
Will finish with Marcia's comment at the end. We were sitting and I was dragging things from under the seat....she turned to me and said. Okay ..... I want to hear all that again.........NOW!!!!
No flash allowed, but have some pics....to come
