To celebrate the release of Damien Leith's acclaimed fifth studio album 'ROY - A tribute to Roy Orbison', Damien sets off on a National theatre tour. The album which was recorded in Nashville, Los Angeles and Australia and was executively produced by Roy's wife Barbara Orbison features 14 classic Roy tracks including favourites like Crying, Pretty Woman and Only The Lonely.
Accompanied by a rocking five-piece band, Damien will take the stage to honour the talents of Roy Orbison. 'A songwriter extraordinaire' who changed the structure of songwriting forever.
"Roy said that at times he didn't like the 'Singer' Roy Orbison, as it often overshadowed the 'Song Writer' Roy Orbison, and he hoped that artists would get past his voice and get to the song, so that they could see a way to make his compositions their very own." Barbara Orbison.
In Damien's new album, 'ROY - A Tribute To Roy Orbison', he has done just that.
With soaring renditions of all Roy's Orbison's songs, this show is not to be missed. Not only will he sing the songs with the passion and emotion that audiences have come to expect from Damien, but he'll also take you on a journey, sharing stories of his experiences in the creation of his wonderful new album and the honour to be celebrating Roy Orbison during the 75th anniversary year of one of rock n roll's greatest contributors.
This show is not a Roy Orbison Concert. It is a salute to an amazing talent from one of his greatest admirers! Come join the celebrations! Mercy!
