Thanks for your report Plugger, I could feel your excitement jumping from the screen, but I could also feel your disappointment, its such a shame that you couldn't see Damien even for just a few seconds to say "Hi" I have a feeling this will probably be happening at all of the regional shows, he has such a busy schedule now. I'm so glad you got to go to a show though and its always nice meeting new forum members, it sounds like you and cracklingrose have a few things in common. I'm glad you both enjoyed the show, but what a shame about the person sitting next to you, you wonder why they bother sometimes

Damien's support act has been up till now Jess Chalker, I don't think that would have changed and by your description of her music I would say is was her, she seems like a lovely girl.

a great report Plugger you captured the night beautifully.. .as we both said what a shame D doesn't make a DVD of this show...can you imagine how it would sell..it seems such a shame that after tour this amazing concert will never be seen again

I knew you'd love the show and rock your little socks off! Looking forward to having some fun together when D and the gang play Wang in November! ;D

I can feel your disappointment about not getting to say hi too, Plugz and totally understand it. However, I find your comment about Eric seeming tired interesting. I guess a factor we are forgetting here is that the band travel together and they may have other commitments besides playing with D which prevent them from being able to have late nights. Damien probably needs to take their needs into account as well. Must be tricky keeping everyone happy at times.

Oow, another female singer opening the show. It's always tough for supports but she sounds like she's a nice person. Will be interested to hear her. I guess many folk who are expecting a rockin show from the headline act will find quiet and acoustic a challenge to begin the evening. I hope people are polite enough to give her a go though.

Hello everyone! I know I waffled a bit....was very tired and excited and you would all understand that!

I totally agree with CR on a DVD of the show to Princess! There were definitely people there who would buy it to keep the memory of the show going!

Yes Trills the more I think about it the more I do think Eric was not quiet as vibrant and cheeky as I have seen him. And they truly must be tired. They did all their own packing up etc.

I guess deb as he does grow we will see a lot less with the close up and personals Its a shame!

I am thinking of popping a post into Messages to the man to see if he reads it ! Mainly feedback to what people were saying at show, suggesting a DVD and that CR and myself are not these serial stalkers going around Wagga a t the moment! Just to excited country fans (desperado's who don't get to as many shows as we would like to!).

And no everyone it wasn't Jess playing..........lovely girl, not the best support act I have seen Damien have.....the audience response was not good!

SOOOO glad you made this show Plugs and CR, sounds like you both had a blast!! the show is awesome for sure, so rocked up and so much energy to it.

Sorry to hear you didn't get to meet up with Damien!! He's obviously decided not to do anymore signings, which is a shame as soo many fans do just want to say hello, and he would have a whole lot of new fans since DWTS that have probably gone to these shows too. maybe he isn't feeling the best at the moment himself and needs to rest up.

I'm so disappointed for you both to not have a meet and greet, as it is always such a thrill to be able to say a personal hello to Damien, however I guess there must be reasons which we may never know, but I hurt for you as it's happened to all of us before.

However, the man is an absolute darling, legend, showman, etc. etc. and it sounds like the evening/s were a great success. At least you were both able to be there to see first hand what a remarkable entertainer Damien has become.

Lovely that you and CR got on so well Plugz - there's no doubt that this DLO forum is a great place to meet up with like spirits, at least as far as the wonderful Damien Leith is concerned.

Have to say, your tenacity to meet up with D after the show pretty much took me by surprise!! Good onya for keeping up the tradition.

Just popping back in to say bah humbug about the killjoy seated next to you as well, Plugz.! What a cheek! You paid for your ticket just like her and were allowed to take pics so i agree, you should have told her to *ahem* nick orff! (as long as you turned off the beep on your camera, that is. They can be very annoying, admittedly.) But it sounds like her face would crack if she smiled anyway. Some people!

Shame about the meet and greets I think it is something that has always set Damien a little above some other performers but it would be also very tiring.
Plugz when you get people beside you like that you just yell and clap louder and keep taking those pics, after all you paid the same price as them If they don't like it thats their problem.

Thank you for you reports. So sad for you tghat Damien did'nt do a meet and greet and signin g. I ha ve been at shows where he did'nt and always left feeling very let down.

Damien was awesome & the audience really got into it... towards the end some of the crowd were on their feet after every song..unbelievable the song list didn't change but the atmosphere was electric...I won't say to much as Plugger will do a report when she gets home...that was another thing I have had a wonderful day....I got to meet Plugger what a lovely lovely lady she is so nice & so much fun ... it was hard to say goodbye to both her & Damien as this was my last show

That occurred to me too, Dawnie, but honestly, he could just as easily pick up a bug from the kids as from a thoughtless fan. I get that touring takes it out of him, and certainly wouldn't want to see him cut his schedule back due to illness (heaven forfend!), but if he can survive DWTS, he can take a few late nights to sign CDs and teatowels, in my humble opinion. Of course, we DON'T know what else is happening in his life, with family etc, so I'm not going to make too much of it. It just seems odd, that's all.

I'm wondering if it had more to do with meeting up with people..Sam Armytage's folks are from Wagga and Brian Hodge is also from there as well..maybe he had a few private get togethers?

Oh Lordy, D's first support act Mardy or Maddy (sorry I didn't catch her name) wasn't the hit of the night with comments from many people. She sang for 20 to 25 mins. People were commenting that they hoped the rest of the show wasn't going to be like this and I reassured them no its not! D's fabulous! These comments were from many that had not seen him before live.

She sang some originals which I thought was a more folky edge, maybe not suited to the audience there!

:-[Oh look I felt sorry for her! She said it was a better audience than the night before I spoke to her and said she did really well and did wish her all the very best!

It started badly! I got to sit next to grump of the century! I took first photo and fairly enough, security staff said no flashs, but could take pics! Whilst trying to play around with camera got "I have had enough of you and that, please turn it off". I didn't do anything wrong guys! So hence no pics or anything She didn't smile, didn't clap for whole show! I don't know why she was there!

So I thought......you don't know me or anything about me........

D came out with his Roy glasses on......said it was hard as couldn't see a thing, but knew where to go on stage! Then he was off! WOW........WOW........WOW............ Dressed in his Black as CR said....and suits! Looking back I think they did look tired....Eric I reckon was.....not the same grin in show

I did not write the songs down from start to finish, one was I couldn't see (thats old age!), two I wasn't game to open handbag with grump next door on her happy pills!

The favourites of the show were definitely "Mean Woman Blues".... the same as CR's! Everybody was rockin! And he sang "Leah" yes Brian and it was fantastic.

The other cute bit which I think CR would agree with was the little ....maybe not so little "Butt wiggles" he did to working class man! I did sing out do it again....and again......and I heard others comment from audience. His confidence and interaction with audience has come so far with his increasing confidence from 5 yrs of doing it. You guys would know more about this than me. But he truly entertained us all from start to finish. Amazing!

There were more males attending which was great to see! Lots and lots of people we spoke to (I think CR would agree) who had not seen Damien before were totally blown away!

This was by far the best show out of any I have ever seen. I had an absolute ball! The band just rocked! Standing ovation, and CR stated a lot more standing after every single song! It was amazing! D commented on this being the better audience, and Cr said the same to myself!

Oh WOW he is just wonderful!

The only song I struggled with the tissue box was goodnight,, I knew there could be one but I was off rockin again.

No hello's or signings ! I was disappointed I think I was more for CR....I really wanted to get the opportunity for Cr to meet D! And I tried for her! Eric and D mentioned CR in show, as D asked if anyone had attended night before and they commented a couple of times during show, on CR's attendance)

It was obvious no signings! I went with CR when she spoke to (OH I can't remember who he is.......Bald guy selling merchandise....thats not D's manager or George or whoever ?) , I think Cr got a different answer from previous night off him. Would not come to the party even when I said only 2 of us from fan club, CR travelling to all his regional shows and not having opportunity to meet him before etc etc Doing fan club report etc etc It didn't work He siad he knew my face though I got worried, next show I will go with a wig and disguise

;)Time for stalking! (in a nice way!)

Four of us went outside and decided to hang around entrance doors (we had heard other people saying they had come thru a particular door when we were entering to be seated ourselves). Saw the van parked in driveway..................... Oh and we belly laughed then CR's gorgeous friend who had become an instant fan ,decided to get in her car (after stalking other entrance doors to the Civic Theatre!) and with windows down and Pretty Woman blasting (like hoon loud!) drive around and around the round-a-bout at the entrance of the venue! She looked like Mr Bean out of the Movie! Then we had a plan for her to park behind the D get away van with the bonet of her car up (pretending broken down to stop the get-a-way!

Meanwhile we are hiding near bushs, I am thinking any minute we would be arrested and we all just laughed Stalkers!

The support singer from the show Mardi (or Maddy) came out to leave with her guitar in hand. She said wasn't that cute ,we looked like 16yr old fans and that one day she hoped she would have fans doing what we were. I felt kind of sad for her. It would not be easy to be out there trying so hard to be seen in her proffession of singing. Survive and earn a living.

I braved it and grabbed CR (with lots of encouragement) when we spotted Eric loading van. I just said "Hi Eric, we were from the official fan club, only 2 of us there and was there any chance of CR meeting D as she was the lady who had attended shows etc He said they had to leave by some really early hour (can't remember exactly), but it was a definite "No"! I said if he could please thank D for the great show etc and I thanked him etc and we went. I didn't want to over step the mark! I do respect their privacy, and appreciate how tired they get with what they do etc and want to be seen in the future as a nice fan, not a pest. I only wished for a meet and greet for CR to have that opportunity I had once from everyones help! There will be that show oneday CR!

I have waffled! I had an absolute ball and am so grateful that I got to go and see him perform again fantastic! WOW...WOW...WOW...WOW!

Oh Plugger..what a great report! Sounds like th esecond show was the one to be at..Damo at his best!

So sad you (& cr) didn't get to see D ..even after your impressive efforts!

And to the grump next to you. I have often wondered about some of the dead heads I have witnessed who have front row seats and sit there like logs the whole night... WTF? Don't let them get to you..just be you and stuff them!!!
