OK shows over, here in Perth and it has all been said!!!!!!! I've watched it over a couple of times, and I'm feeling a little better about it. But initially I watched, screaming at the tele. How are they expected to dance to this song Give them the hardest challenge of all contestants and see if they can bring them down a peg or two I never did like this show much, and I can't imagine I will ever watch it again after this series. It's so full of crap If this was a channel 9 show, channel 7's Today Tonight would have done an expose on how rigged it is by now! Shimms post seems to be the only really positive one amongst us. But can I point out a couple of things. Mel may have done her best with the dance and song and adding in the New Vogue to make it work. But she was bagged for that!!!!!!!!!! Give her an impossible song and then bag her for trying to make it work Disappointing not to see more of D & M during the jive!!!!!!!!! The whole dance routine was filmed so that nobody would be able to get a decent look at the dancers. So that they could pre-plan the order in which couples were knocked out t. Lara stuffed it, so they had to knock her out first, otherwise it would have been Brynne first and Lara out just before Damien. There was no way on TV that you could say anyone danced better than another. It was good seeing Manu's cha cha, as it was clear six weeks in that his footwork in wk 6 was nowhere near as good as D's in week 1 So anyway.................. we live another week If all we needed confidence in D & M's dancing We would be comfortable watching this show. But the mere thought that they can write anyone out of the script at any time is very stressfull SO THAT'S ALL WE CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!! I THINK THAT IF WE VOICE ALL OF THESE THOUGHTS (RE, HOW RIGGED IT IS!) ON PUBLIC FORUMS, THEY MAY BE FORCED TO PULL THEIR HEAD IN A BIT. THE MORE PEOPLE WHO CALL THEM OUT, THE MORE NERVOUS THEY WILL BE ABOUT PULLING A SWIFTY AT THE END OF THE SHOW

Thanks Deb, I'll let you know if I do ;D.
I am intrigued at so many of you liking eyeliner on men - I think it looks really creepy.

Kath, to me it was just Damien getting into character. I had a huge crush on Billy Idol and Adam Ant. So I don't mind it on an artist

Afraid i couldn't get on earlier as both computers were taken up... because the family deserted me as my cries of indignation increased in volume throughout the show. What an amazing and passionately performed dance by Mel and Damien, once again. SUPERB WORK GUYS!!! I have to say that i was surprised by the song choice... who does choose the song anyway? I thought the professional dancer does? It certainly was dramatic and Damien did channel "dark & dangerous Damien" from the alternate universe Great acting and performance once again. I can't comment on the correctness or otherwise of the choreo cause i'm not a dancer... but I can imagine the purists up in arms about the dance choices this week. I know that a lot of them expect latin music to latin dances, at least Lol - definitely not ACDC. I was thinking about the costuming tonight. Damien's outfit, to me, had elements of Gerard from My Chemical Romance while the make-up was almost Adam Ant... or toned down Rocky Horror Show. Stunning, for sure. Really agree with how rigged this show is!! No way was Nick better than D. Damien looked shocked by the result from Todd - he should've got a 7-9. Helen & Josh's marking has been much more consistent throughout the weeks.... and no way was Manu better than Haley in the group dance-off. But, they've survived another week and then it'll be on again next Sunday. Will there be another "Get out the front door!" twist, I wonder?? Lol, I'd never heard of that one either! I thought he was about to say something else

Aaaaaah wish I could see it! Will have to wait another day for that one! Sounds like a scream lol at Shut the front door, I hadn't heard anyone say that before but got the meaning of it from the context, good euphemism I am intrigued at so many of you liking eyeliner on men - I think it looks really creepy. I looooooooooooooove it - "dark and dangerous Damien from the alternate universe" is a great description alright Nuffy! YUM! My only real negative tonight was not seeing Damien and Mel dancing enough in the marathon, at one point you heard a big cheer and I got the feeling they did something really cool but we didn't see it The dancers don't pick the music as far as I know, I remember them saying last year that decision is with the production and then the songs are given to the dancers. Not sure how much reign the choreographers are given within the strict application of the styles, Todd's criticism seemed based on there being non ballroom elements but Melanie said that was intentional to suit the music, so I think if they are in the context of presenting an entertainment piece for a show rather than a pro competition, that would be a good choice? Anyway, loved Mel's routine, really thought it was punchy and great for the music

I loved the dancing and thought Todd was way out of line with his marking.....to say that only Brynne was worse than D is utter bullsh*t. They are given the song, choice not theirs and from what I had read on dwts forum, thought it was International Tango, but Josh surprised me when he indicated that perhaps the old staid Tango would have been better, they should know by now that D would rise to the challenge of most difficult. I find the Argentinian to be an easier style. That was the one where Manu did little footwork and Alana did all the foot movements. Oh yeah, would have thought they'd have had to put any dance experience before being accepted as Haley was accepted into a PA school on audition and would have had to continue with that dance throughout her secondary education, even if only with the trained dance teachers on staff...that rule has long been in force after students were accepted only to drop their PA field after acceptance. But Todd was told right at the start she had dance training in 2 fields My son was shocked that Manu was picked best in the rock dancing (he thought Haley would win) but what could they do after Manu let them down with his dance and had to be pulled up, even Alana admitted she had thrown their routine out and just let Manu go.....which was fine except it was the same stuff over and over, maybe we weren't supposed to notice, but if the camera's mainly on one couple....it's noticed. Find 2 of the judges are fairly consistent with their marks, but the other is very inconsistent and yes....even D was surprised. Had a giggle at the booing though. Maybe some comments need to be made on DWTS that Damien could be in trouble and needs more support.....feeling it is somewhat rigged.....how does Nick stay on? Okay dust off and see what challenge they're handed next week

Although this is completely irrelevant to Damien and Mel's performance, I read in the paper the other day that Toad had a previousl relationship with Mark (Jan Stephenson's partner) and that is why Mark had not been on the show for a few years. Just a little bit of useless info. BTW... Shut the front door..... was hilarious when Damien said it and I figured it was a polite replacement for Shut the f...* up. Could also be used if somebody left their fly open!

Agree Dawn. (BTW I heard you on the Rev's show last night! ) I watched it all again last night (got to bed about 1.30 am!!) Damien & Mel's dance was fantastic! I don't care about the music at all, loved the rock look & makeup, I thought the dance was power packed and massively entertaining! So there were some New Vogue elements in there.. (whatever that is heehee) ..big deal. It was still a tango and Damien did the whole routine from start to finish, without getting lost in his steps. I am so tired from being outraged about Todd's lame excuses for giving Damien & Mel a 6. It's all been said but it is so unfair. Then I watched Manu & Alana and without a word of a lie Manu's feet were a dog's breakfast. They were all over the shop, he didn't just lose it in one spot..throughout the whole dance you could see Alana trying to get him back into the routine..talk about makiing it up as they went along. And didn't he turn into a sulky schoolboy when Josh had the temerity to point it out..Manu doesn't take criticism well at all. So different to Damien who takes it all with such grace (although, god love him, he would've been struggling last night I'd reckon) And I didn't imagine it..in the group dance they barely showed D & M ..who were actually doing real dance steps, and were doing them right up to being tapped on the shoulder..what were Todd & Helen saying about doing the correct dance..such a short time ago... when Damien was doing a kickass full-on entertainment packed dance (with real rehearsed steps mind you)..oh no, Manu was having such "fun" (insert sarcasm smiley) whilst doing a daggy "at the pub rock n roll" hotchpotch of nothing at all. I thought it was very telling just how excited Manu was (he really reminded me again of a spoilt little boy) when he got that 10..as I think it had more to do with it putting him above Damien on the leaderboard than anything else..as I expect he knows he's got the viewer votes. So deep breath...they are safe this week, next week is so far away..I think my blood pessure is going to get a workout between now & then. My understanding with the way it's scored is that his viewers votes from this week and whatever score they get next week is what counts, so this weeks travesty can be put behind them.

Honestly, last night's oh- so- transparent "cheer Manu up night" is but a trifle. We can see through it like a pane of glass and I'm guessing many others can as well. HOWEVER, D is having a ball, it's all pie and gravy for him, so there's no point really in getting too upset about it all. Expecting this show to be totally fair is obviously a joke, so as long as they are still there, maybe a spoonful of salt is called for? or, like the song says, maybe sugar? Damien will be back next week (and we'll vote like crazy this week!) to thrill us all again! ;D
