I would at this point like to give some words of encouragement to those not on the East Coast or are in country areas - I really know how it feels to be a fan isolated from where all the fuss is happening - it was like that as a Billy Boyd fan (Lord of the Rings) - FIVE YEARS of reading about other fan encounters/premiere/conventions - only it was the United States!!!! And a few things in Europe. Nothing at all for the Aussies. Now he is playing in a band in Scotland. I have practically given up on Billy and time has waned my enthusiasm. It was tough and I was heartbroken, but all I can say is it WILL happen for you guys real soon with Damien - you won't have the angst for that long, that's for sure!! Here's to the new album national tour I have to agree, selestial. Well said. As parochial a Melbournian as I am, I do feel for our Crow-Eater and Sandgroper friends who are missing out this time around. However,I am sure this situation is beyond D's control and they WILL get to see him after the album release. Hang in there, kiddies.

As a West Aussie, I am trying to be very patient and gracious to all you lucky ladies (and gents) who have met Damien or who will soon attend one of his concerts! I'm trying very hard to keep jealousy in check!! So thanks for those of you who are thinking of us so far away.... (melodramatically wiping away a tear!! ). I know it won't be long until Damien gets here - I just hope we are offered the same competition to go backstage!!!

Anthony Callea is performing at a Perth Beach concert very soon (this weekend I think). It is the first time he is performing in Perth. If that is to be a guide, sandgropers can expect to see Damien some time in 2009. In other words I won't be holding my breathe. But that is the price for living/moving to a smaller city in the middle of nowhere. I would be a little gripier were I in Adelaide however. While it might be small it's easy to get to from Melbourne, and has a bit more 'cultural clout' than Perth. Adelaide is an obvious add-on to a tour.
