Here's something I threw together, just for some fun and in the hope that any quests that may be reading might like to help out and vote for Damien and Melanie to hopefully get them that lovely Sparkly glitterball Trophy! ;D Feel free to share this around the place...

I have an iPhone3. Can anybody tell me how to stop the premium sms messages coming back from Ch7 (which I pay for) after I have done an sms vote. I have been using my landline as at least I know how much it will be each call. Telstra told me that when I receive a return SMS message, send it back just saying "STOP". It didn't work.. I just got another message thanking me for voting!

Hi Glawz, Are you sure you are getting charged for the sms back that is confirming your sms vote? Cause I don't think ou should be. I couldn't find the Terms & Conditions on the DWTS website but I could google them.. How much will it cost to vote via SMS?
It will cost you AUD $0.55 cents to register your vote via SMS.
How do I vote via SMS?
You must send a text message from your mobile handset with the first name only of your favourite Celebrity (except for Mark Occhilupo – vote for ‘Occy’) to *19 17 77, as advertised on ‘Dancing with the Stars’, to register a vote via SMS. *MNET Group Limited 55c max. Mobile calls to 1902 extra. SMS Helpline 1300 851 419. Closes: Sunday’s at 6.30pm (AEST). Final closing date: 10/07/2011 at 6:30pm (AEST). T&C available here.
I think I have been charged more than $0.55 for my vote.
$0.55 is the maximum charge for your SMS vote. It may be another premium number you have registered for. Please check with your mobile provider and confirm you sent your SMS/text to *19 17 77. *MNET Group Limited 55c max. Mobile calls to 1902 extra. SMS Helpline 1300 851 419. Closes: Sunday’s at 6.30pm (AEST). Final closing date: 10/07/2011 at 6:30pm (AEST). T&C available here.
Can I vote by actually telephoning *19 17 77?
No, you can only vote by sending in a text message (SMS) to the number. *MNET Group Limited 55c max. Mobile calls to 1902 extra. SMS Helpline 1300 851 419. Closes: Sunday’s at 6.30pm (AEST). Final closing date: 10/07/2011 at 6:30pm (AEST). T&C available from www.yahoo7.com.au/tv.
How many votes does each SMS provide?
Each SMS text vote registers ONE vote for your favourite Celebrity What happens if I send in a text message after voting has closed?
If you vote after the SMS voting cut-off period, your vote will not be registered. You will receive a SMS message back to advise that your vote has not been registered, however you will still be charged $0.55 for your SMS.
Will a confirmation text message be sent to me when my vote has been registered? Yes. You should receive a text message in return to confirm your vote has been received.
If you have not received a reply SMS/text message it may mean the mobile networks are busy and there is a simple delay, or you have accidentally sent it to the wrong number! Check you’re sent items in your mobile phone messages section.
When I tried to vote, my handset said “Message Not Sent”. What does this mean?
This means that enormous amounts of people are trying to vote via SMS at the same time and the mobile network is busy. All we can ask is that you are patient and please keep trying!! Your vote is important.
Does it matter which telephone network I am on?
No, it does not matter which telephone network you are signed up to because SMS voting is now available to all Australian mobile phone networks.
I have a pre-paid phone account, can I still vote via SMS?
Yes, if you are a pre-paid customer, you can still vote via SMS. SMS charges will be deducted from your pre-paid credit balance; you must have enough credit in your pre-paid balance to cover the cost of the text message. You vote by following the instructions listed above.

Glawz, I was looking at the DWTS voting section and there is a SMS Helpline 1300 851 419 Thanks Smiley. When I recently changed to Optus, they told me those return texts are Premium texts and they are charged back to me. I've now changed back to Telstra with my new phone so assumed the premium charge rate still applied. Obviously it doesn't from reading your attachment. Thank you so much. Thanks so much Bella for your help too.

I just rang that number Bella. The girl said there may be a charge for the return call. She took my details and will get somebody to call me back tomorrow.
Prior to the guy at Optus telling me there was a charge it never entered my mind, and there are so many services where they send you a confirmation, so all up it could turn costly. With Optus though, it could well have been the plan that I was on.
Will keep you all posted.
