Back from our last gig. We are so bloody in love with the Dman it isn't funny! These gigs have been sensational from our perspective. We've loved every second of it and are sad it's now over. And yes Braff, before you ask D sang GLORIA! tonight for us! We absolutely loved it! Haha, Glawz got an eyebrow raise because she was sitting right in front of him SQUUUUEEEE! No changes to the setlist, except NOML instead of AIWIY. Once again the crowd was kinda subdued until the second half, then they got into it big time! One guy (who might have had a few sherbets before the show) kept yelling for D to do his own music. D handled him beautifully by saying "Well, this IS the Roy Orbison tribute show, but I might do some of my own songs later on, just wait and see!" haha, bravo D, perfect reply!! When he did, they received a great response, especially to Beautiful, which D proudly announced was currently being used in an Estee Lauder ad Not much more needs saying, except that tonight we got to have a chat with D after the show. I don't think I've ever seen him so relaxed and happy. He told us to look for more media re his new TV show soon! Check The Boardroom too! ; Btw, we gave D a pressie of some Devil Horns tonight, plus another (decent!) comestible item. He said damn, he should have put them on onstage! Haha! Tired now, more in the morning if I am up to it haha!

Thanks for posting all the reports after the shows Trilly, you all must be exhausted by now, it sounds like it was fabulous night and Vic tour! Glawz absolutely thrilled you got to hear GLORIA plus raised eyebrows Fantastic everyone got to chat with Damien after, he sounds like he's in such a happy place, I can't remember seeing him happier either than he's been lately, it's beautiful to see All those years of performing definitely come in handy when people call out like that guy you mentioned, Damien handled that brilliantly, always manages to make a disruption a positive & part of the show. Fantastic he had so many things to announce, the Beautiful ad, the New Idea show - wow talk about many and varied projects!! Safe travels to all, looking forward to reading all the reports when you can settle in again

Thank you once again Trilly. I lknow it is tiring to sit down and write when you are so so please believe me when I say how grateful/we all are. Thrilled to hear the Gloria got to hear G.L.O.R.I.A. after Damien singing it at a number of shows and then having a real life Gloria in his audience not hearing it. Good on Damien for the self promotion. Everyone else does it, so no point in D missing the boat. I will wait for the rest of the reports when you are all up to it. Thank you again.

The show last night was great, as Trilly said a bit subdued to start but there was much enthusiastic clapping along and plenty of people standing after Hallelujah at the end. I have been thrilled to hear Eric's playing this tour. I am a huge Dire Straits fan and have been loving 'Going Home' and last night when D was introducing the band he played some of 'Money for Nothing' ;D Damien was certainly relaxed and happy when we had a chat. He seems to have really enjoyed making the cooking show, and it was great to hear him be able to admit on stage that Beautiful was being used by Estée Lauder. He did say though that the ad was aimed at the Northern Hemisphere for Christmas/winter and he didn't know if we would see it here Starsis and I have had a wonderful time, and really enjoyed being able to spend some time with the Melbourne girls. So sorry not to have met Plugger and only a brief hi to Nixter -another time I hope. I also am sure that I have never heard Damien's voice sound as good. All the big notes are strong and clear and a few of them cause real goosebumps, and of course we have all noticed his lower notes are strong too. The banter on stage is both witteh and spontaneous and it's obvious they are all having a ball too. Keep your eye on Youtube

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE ROAD TRIP, STAYS ON THE ROAD TRIP!
Baha! I really can't add much to Trilly's brilliant report(s). But thank god, cause I don't think the rest of us could of put together a report in such detail. Trills you're a real trooper! Even through all the coma you still managed to write. What I can say is... When I think Damien can't any better, he does something that just blows me out of the water!! Farrrrrkk!!! There were so many song highlights throughout each show. At this gig it was definitely Hallelujah. As you all know, we've all heard this many times live and in a few different ways, but I didn't at all expect Damien to sing it quite like he did, O.M.G! I have never heard such a better rendition to be honest. The way Damien held those last few notes seemed to go on forever and he just absolutely KILLED IT!!!!Everyone was on their feet by the end of this and it certainly deserved the standing ovation. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!Goodnight was another fave and so beautiful. I recorded it on my iphone. The quality is EXCELLENT! So I am really, really happy. I can now watch it before I go to bed every night! RUNNING SCARED.Holy mother of god... This song is definitely been the most surprising. I don't really listen to it as much as the others on the album, but then hearing it live over the 4 shows has knocked me to the FLOOR! ABSOLUTELY MIND-BLOWING! I'm pretty sure Trilly would of mentioned this also, but Damien's lower register is in FINE FORM. Soooooooo good! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! He's been practicing and getting better and better, it really shows! ;D As you all would of read we got to chat to Damien after the show. He was a sweetie and real generous of his time. Thank you for that Damien! BLAHHHHHHH!!!! I am caught somewhere between a massive high and being sad that's it's now all over! Gosh, the coma is a wonderful thing isn't it? lol. You guys know the drill, I'll be in recovery for the next week or so! I will post some more highlights about the other shows in the other threads, but for now... I had the most amazing and fun time with Princey, Trilly, Glawzy, Di, Plugger, Kath and Starsis. Thank you girls, LOVE YA'S! I LOVE DAMIEN!!!!!!

Thanks lovelies. Teh Coma is hitting hard now, but I have just a couple more comments. Firstly, our TShirts and glowbands made a reappearance last night for the first time since the previous Ballarat show, which we were kinda blown away to realize was three years ago! Totally agree, Shims re D's now extensive live performance experience being the reason he rarely seems fazed by anything whilst on stage - except for occasional fits of laughter when either one of the band or an audience member does or says something unexpected. No more broken guitar strings either! Pity, cos itmhad some funny consequences! D really dislikes the self-promo thing, he's far too modest and nice a guy to be comfortable doing it, but I have to say it's gratifying to hear his pride about Beautiful and excitement re his upcoming 7Two show. ;D On a personal note, the company on this trip was wonderful. I had such a ball, thankyou ladies. s. Wish it wasn't over, but it makes the anticipation of the next time all the sweeter. PS. Posts crossed Krissy! Mmwah! Oh my, coma Bigtime ! LOL! Agree with everything you said, and HAllelujah was mind boggling last night!

Yes, Trills and Krissy have written such wonderful reports there's not much more to say really. but needless to say I'll have a bash. Sure agree with all they've said times 10 Agree that Damien's voice is awesome in that high register, particularly in Running Scared - and the length of that sustained note at the end is real goosebump and tingling hairs up the back stuff. We were thrilled to be able to speak briefly to Damien after the show and I said to him that I noticed the difference in the quality of those high notes sung live, compared to the version on the album, and he said he had been having vocal coaching (which IMO has certainly paid off big time ) OMG, his voice is soooooooooooo awesome Trills did mention about my 'eyebrow moment' but not my 'piece de resistance' and I am more than happy to share. We were in second row, the seating there is very elevated so you can see over the head of the person in front. I was sitting directly in front of Damien so had a great view of him. After he had come out and finished his first little bracket of songs, he stopped for his customary banter - looked straight at ME, and said, "Thank you for the lovely biscuits Gloria" and gave me a huge smile. God, I just melted and blew him a double kiss back ...I'm actually amazed at myself for being able to do that spontaneously as I'm usually so in awe of his prescence I just stop functioning - not this time though. (see, told you I got great mileage out of the Melting Moments!!!) Then later, he sang G L O R I A and I'm as happy as a pig in sh*t!! At Wangaratta I also gave him a teddy bear which I had made for Kikki... I asked George to pass it on to him as I didn't think it appropriate to put it on the stage. I hope he liked it, actually I hope he got it This whole tour has been a fantastic experience. Not only did I get to four Damien Leith shows but had the pleasure of the company of my fellow Damienites (geez it sounds good to say that). Also let my hair down a bit and got completely out of my normal routine (not used to having alcohol at 1am, haha) Thank you ladies for a wonderful 4 1/2 days, for your wonderful company, and all the laughs.

I have to add that I just loved not only the set list for these shows, but also the order of presentation. Whoever worked that out did a fantastic job. Three quick, pumping Roy songs, banter, a couple more songs, then the older Damien songs, followed by the jaw dropping In Dreams, Leah and Running Scared - all those strong high notes at the one time - honesly I don't know how he did it without even having a sip of water in between. Damien, your amazing vocals have my hear a-flutter! Mean woman blues, Crying etc... you've seen the set list, but it all just leaves you wanting for more!
