8.10.11 NSW - Dee Why RSL

Hi, lovely ladies,

After two days with two Damien concerts (Hornsby and Dee Why) and two meetings with him we are still in a state of excitement!

But first we want to say it was a great pleasure to meet you and talk to you in Hornsby (Braffy, dmac, Kazza etc.)! You are so nice...

Of course, we have read all your detailed reports about the concert in Hornsby. So it is a little bit difficult to write news. We loved every second of the show, too! It was really fantastic!

We were lucky to meet Damien and his tour manager after the show. A good chance to give Damien some of our photos which we took of him this year. He always loves our pictures, the manager was also impressed. (I am still waiting to become Damien’s personal photographer... NO, this is a joke!)

What a pity that we have still problems to post photos and videos to your website (we use a Mac). Therefore we will give some videos to You Tube in the next days (Channel Name DaLDJFan). Perhaps you can transfer the videos to the website, again.

Now to the concert in Dee Why:

There was no screen or poster on the outside of the building. But this was the only negative point. What a great sold out show!!! The band members have been the same as in Hornsby (again: guitarist Eric was a "safe rock"). The audience was fantastic, too. Our highlights: “Hallelujah”, “Crying” and “Beautiful” (incl. the super-high notes!).

Damien was absolutely fit, his performance was stunning!!! After the show we met him again and he told us that his voice was in a better condition than in Hornsby. He was very satisfied.

By the way, we think Damien missed you because he told on stage about your crazy gift which you gave him the day before (the hot pink g-string or nose warmer or whatever it is). ;D

Diana Rouvas was the support, she sang “Blue Bayou” with Damien.

So you can imagine: We had two very special evenings!!! Now we are looking forward to the next concert with our beloved Damien.

That is great news that you were able to get your photos to Damien.

Lovely to hear too how the audience got involved. It has always been a great event at Dee Why whenever Damien has performed there.
They ae good singers there too.

I also meant to say that it was good knowing that Damien's voice was back to full force and the high and long notes sounded good.

The long notes were good at Hornsby also, but some of the higher notes were altered to a different arrangement to protect the voice.

Thanks for the report 2damienfans, its great to hear that you got to meet Damien 2 nights, did the others who went to Hornsby get to see him too? I don't remember seeing anything in the reports about that, I'll go back and have another look. Did he do a meet and greet after the shows?
Its great that Damien's voice was better for the Dee Why show, he must really have rested it overnight.

Firstly : G. L. O. R. I. A - Glooooooria!!! Awesome!! So wanna hear that one! Wow, can just imagine it! D would kill it and so would the band!! ..the lyrics are pretty cheeky too!
And I'm really pleased to hear that D was sounding in fine voice. ;D
Very pleased to hear that Leah was back on the setlist as well. It's gorgeous. Hope you get to hear it at one of the NSW gigs, Braff.

Glad you managed to say hi to Teh Man, also. ;D

PS. I know a certain Victorian who will love the new addition to the setlist too! I can hear the singing along in November already!! ;D

So glad this was another great show, and wonderful news that Damien's voice was on the mend too and sounding great! Thank you for your wonderful reports, it's always nice to read one from a less seasoned attendee of teh concerts! ;D

Princess unfortunately we wern't able to see Damien as he had no voice and therefore we didn't want to force ourselves upon him,Eils caught up with us afterwoods and apologised which was lovely of her so unfortunately we didn't get to say hi and I have no more shows so its going to be a long time but thats okay I was just Happy to hear him sing

Haha! I'd love to hear GLORIAAAAAA too, and I know the certain Victorian whom you are speaking of Trills! I can imagine him belting that one out!

It's a pity you all were unable to see D, Kazz, especially those who aren't going to another gig this year. I guess we all understand though when D needs to guard his voice. It was nice of Eils to be so understanding of the way you feel.

Thanks for the reports Brian and 2damienfans, Dee Why is always a great venue (unfortunately after food poisoning there, I tend to avoid it : But so great you were able to catch up with D again 2damienfans....hope brian did too. Did they do a meet and greet and/or selling of merchandise?

What a shame you didn't all get to meet up with Damien, I guess it was a case of being in the right place at the right time, Lucky 2dfans but Damien's voice is important so preserving it is what he needs to do.
