Additional info on this terrific concert. We arrived at the club early and had dinner in the Flame restaurant which was excellent and moved to the auditorium about 8.15 pm the shows starting at 8.30 and there was a line of about 30 metres to get in which we have not seen for a long time and some conversations around from undoubtedly regulars that they have not seen this for a while and they think it is going to be sold-Out (Yes --It is and told them so ) It was so good to see all those people filing in to the room. We were in the very front and the stage was about a metre up from the floor. Diana was the support act and she was OK Damien come on about 9.15 pm . The set list was similar to Hornsby except for Leah and For all of time ( he told the story of writing this song for for aunt after he attended her husband's funeral back in Ireland and it is the last song on his album Remember June --This was sung beautifully and sounded terrific. I am not sure if he sang Mean Woman Blues at Hornsby but he sang it here. As I said previously His voice sounded superb and he did not hold back at all. There was lots of foot stamping and you could see and feel the buzz around the room that was electric after some songs. My favourites were Crying, Running Scared, You Got It' and In Dreams together with Leah and Beautiful however the song that had everyone going crazy was G L O R I A and I think he could sense it and really went full bore and this--WOW Hallelujah was again superb and it was the short version from Eric guitar interlude . Some sidelights. Damien said he thanked Tina and Sam for filling in at the last moment and hoped (jokingly) that they did make as many mistakes as last night) Toward the end I think in Mean Woman Blues Damien broke a string and at the end when they all try to finish together and Damien jumped in the air bringing his guitar down to end the song the wayward string missed Tina's face by a whisker which brought a gasp from the audience--Damien when he and Eric stopped laughing changed his guitar after this near miss. He did mention about the nose warmer he received at Hornsby and said that when he got home he realized that it was not a nose warmer but another type of warmer Audience laughing again as they did throughout the night at the banter. Missed Ceasar and Steve and hope they will be there for Castle Hill--WOW can't wait for this

Thanks so much Brian. It sounds like it totally went OFF. Damien broke a guitar string at Hornsby too and left it flapping there for several songs. It wasn't in danger of hitting anyone though. He truly is a great showman the way he can carry a gag on for several concerts. The funny thing was that at Hornsby (and I must put this in that thread too) is that he was saying how in the past he had received gifts etc = g-strings and before he could say anything else up went Dawn with the 'nose warmer'. It just blended in so well with the show and now as you have mentioned, he is carrying that over to the following shows. See you at Castle Hill

Two more things that I failed to mention was firstly we did not stay after the show as we had a fair distance to travel and we did not think that Damien would return but there were still stacks of people in the auditorium and they appeared on a high after the show and celebrating with a drink or two.
I would also like to mention that my wife and I have been to about 15 Damien shows and as the band finished for the evening my wife turned to me and said "That's the best I've heard him sing especially in the lower register--so much more power there and the happiest I've ever seen him (mind you he always looks happy) and my wife never ever says anything unless she means it---.

Thank you Brian for the terrific extra comments. ;D So cool to hear that D is really letting rip with no voice issues now. Fantastic remark from you wife! s Ooow, For All Of Time as well. Brilliant! It's such a gorgeous song, really pleased it's made a reappearance. Mean Woman Blues is the bomb too! Sounds like the joint was jumping!Damien is such a good sport about our sometimes OTT gifts, he gets plenty of mileage out of them, that's for sure! Glad you and Barb had such a great evening- but then again, it's Damien, so of course you would. ;D

Thank you for the wonderful reports. Brian a few of us agree with you about Damien's lower register. Such a strong rich sound gives me goosebumps listening to him.

Thanks for the report Brian, its great that you got to enjoy the show. 2Dfans, you shouldn't have to explain yourself, I'm glad you & Shims got to speak to Damien even though it was just for a second, you were very lucky and its a moment you'll cherish. I think we all understand that Damien is preserving his voice and if anyone no matter who it is gets to speak to him before or after a show, its great.

Fantastic reports it sounds like an amazing show!!!!! OMG "For All of Time" was on the setlist?!! That's so fantastic to see Damien adding it into the Roy show, it's so similar in feeling to "Love Hurts" that you can imagine it would go beautifully with the Roy set. G-L-O-R-I-A - that will definitely have to be your song now Glawz! Wow how cool is it that the Damien got into it so much with all the crowd atmosphere at Dee Why, at Hornsby GLORIA was part of "Pretty Woman" and it also went off big time, was amazing. Was it a stand alone song at Dee Why? Two more things that I failed to mention was firstly we did not stay after the show as we had a fair distance to travel and we did not think that Damien would return but there were still stacks of people in the auditorium and they appeared on a high after the show and celebrating with a drink or two. That is absolutely gorgeous Brian & Mrs B, I would agree it's so fantastic about Damien seeming so happy and also the amazing power in his voice! It was one of the things my family commented on most about the Hornsby show as it was one of the things about him performing live they had not anticipated (and why you HAVE to see him LIVE!!), they kept saying " Where does he get all the power in his voice?!!!" He just seems to draw on some magical wellspring, to keep doing that through all those songs is mindblowing. Cheers Princey it can be very difficult to post about it if you've been fortunate to have a little chat with Damien but also know later it turned out that others may not have had a chance to see him that time round. No need to say what a special memory it always is, hopefully everyone will get a chance to see him soon. Thank you so much 2Dfans & Brian for sharing all the wonderful exeriences, would love to have been there but you made us feel like we were!

Hi Shimmery GLORIA was not a stand alone--Although it was not short and as I said before he seemed to read the audiences reaction and really gave it something--Boy did he I suppose he probably sang about half of the complete song but you could hear and feel the audience responding to it. I think what made it special was that it was unexpected and seeing him really belt it out. Please again at castle Hill-- We listened to the original Doors version yesterday and it made us relive Damien's moment again
