IRISHMAN turned Australian Damien Leith won over his new countrymen with his vocals on Australian Idol, but fans will have to wait at least another two months for his album of solo work.

Featuring material written by the musician and with an acoustic feel, Leith said it was wonderful having longer than the standard five days given to past Idol winners.

“I have to say with the work I have done, we have spent so much time on this album it really is unbelievable,” he said.

The aspiring author also has a book deal for his first novel, The Trek.

Hope it's late April - coz then I'd be getting a mad present hahaha
