Looks like Damien will be taking part in the Perth Telethon again this year!

Personalities from Seven network shows, along with the best Australian talent are booking their flights to Perth to take part in Australia's biggest annual Telethon on Channel Seven over the weekend of October 15 & 16.

The Potbelleez, Jessica Mauboy, Australia's Got Talent 2010 winners Justice Crew, and 2011 winner Jack Vidgen will be here. The Potbelleez, Jessica Mauboy, Vanessa Amorosi, Damien Leith, Stan Walker, Mark Vincent, and Jon Stevens are also packing their bags for Perth to spend the weekend helping to raise money for Telethon.

Def Leppard are also playing a concert at NIB stadium on Saturday Oct 15 and will do a live cross to Telethon during their encore. Since 1968, Telethon has raised over $104 million for beneficiaries like the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research, headed up by Professor Fiona Stanley and Princess Margaret Hospital. Plus there were just over thirty other beneficiaries of Telethon last year.

There will be a huge opening show featuring Australia's Got Talent winner Jack Vidgen, plus Jessica Mauboy, Justice Crew and Vanessa Amorosi, along with a swag of Seven Network personalities who will be in Perth for the event. The Potbelleez are flying in to Perth especially for the closing show on Sunday night.

The fact that he was coming has been definate for quite a while.
But the fact that it is now only 5 weeks away and no shows have been announced is worrying . He is playing Dapto, the night before and I am thinking, perhaps this year he wants to just come and enjoy the Telethon. He had a crazy schedule of 4 shows over 4 days, last Telethon. The way they have listed the opening acts, does not sound like D will be on early, so that gives me hope that there will be a show on Sat night!

Ticket sales for opening and closing shows went on sale last Monday so, just in case, I went online at 9am to grab me some tickets. But the ticketting was really strange. I started out tryng to buy 6 tkts at 9am opening time, and it was giving me row T, so I kept ordering new batches of tickets to see what else came up. It went row T, W, F, S, U. All over the place. So I tried for 2 tickets and I got row A, but couldn't take them. Eventually decided I at least had to have 3 tkts (2 girls & me!) and got them for Row B. By this time it had taken me ages.
I spoke to Tina later and she had the same problem, however I don't think she thought to keep trying for tickets so she accepted row T tickets.
Tina has been quite a few times to the opening show, but this is my first time. She says that once you are in on your $22 ticket, you can stay as long as you want. The kids will love all those opening acts, but I so want them to see Damien, so I hope he is not too late. But if a concert comes up, I have every intention of jumping ship, giving my ticket away (Tina may want my row B seat !!! ). But if Telethon is the only chance I have, I gotta be there

I guess most of you would have seen Damien's reply to me on facebook (always a thrill when you get a personal reply ),

He says Telethon is not confirmed due to other commitments.

I think that means he's not coming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
