Damien Leith is touring to celebrate the release of ROY - A Tribute to Roy Orbison
Father-of-three Damien Leith is an Irish Australian singer–songwriter who first came to our attention as the winner of Australian Idol in 2006. He has since released five albums, most recently Roy, a tribute album to Roy Orbison. He is also the author of two novels.
1. How many children do you have? What age / sex are they?
I have 3 children. Jarvis (6), Jagger (4) and Kikki (7 months)

2. What has surprised you the most about becoming a father?
How absolutely amazing it is. I never knew what fatherhood would be like but it's definitely the most rewarding, even if it's often quite challenging, thing I've ever done. Nothing compares to it.
3. Do you miss anything about your life prior to having children?
The occasional lie on at the weekend wouldn't go unwanted. Other than that, not a thing.
4. What is the hardest part about being a dad?
Juggling everything. Life becomes a whole lot fuller when you have children and the trick is being the best father you can be while still maintaining all your other responsibilities.
5. How has your relationship with your partner changed since you have become parents?
It's always been really strong and if anything, having children has only added to the strength. We work as a team in everything we do and being parents has helped us to really cement that partnership.
6. What advice do you have for new fathers or fathers to be?
I think the most important thing I could say is that being a father doesn't mean that you have to completely forget about your pre-baby life, it just means that you have to let yourself adjust to a whole new one. You can still do lots of what you used to but you just have to plan things out a bit more.
7. What are you great at?
I really don't know, that's such a hard question. I try to be good at giving of my time equally across all of our kids, I think that's really important.
8. What are you terrible at?
Many sports and my boys love them all!
9. What do you do in your leisure or ‘me’ time?
I love gadgets and computer software so I spend hours messing around with both.
10. Who do you admire? Why?
I admire my parents. I've always thought my parents were amazing but being a parent myself now has totally convinced me. I hope I do as good a job as they did.
11. Tell us a little about your latest projects.
I am still on the road touring nationally with my band as well as celebrating Halloween joining Cadbury as their Halloween Ambassador this year promoting safe trick or treating and the Celtic origins of the event!
