Dawn, the venue doesn't hold a large seated crowd, but has plenty of standing (and dancing!) room. ;D Those who were there (hard to estimate, probably around 250?) were into it and quite few of us ended up on the dance floor )yes, even Carla, by the end of the gig! D gave us the "raised eyebrows and grin of acknowledgement" when we got up! Haha!

They still have 3 gigs in SA to play next weekend, Glawzy.
I hope D is properly recovered by then, poor thing.

Btw, the guys had their "mafia" black outfits on, complete with fedoras, except for Chris and D. Chris was stirred about "forgetting" his and D said hats don't suit him - cue an audience member who handed him a tweed cap! He put it on and looked for all the world like the quintessential Irishman of history. I envisaged him riding those horses he's talked about in County Kildare. Have a pic, but it's blurry. He didn't have it on for long! ;D

Sounds like an interesting set list. I didn't realise it wasn't a Roy show. Did he sing any originals? How exciting that you got to hear When A Child Is Born. I got iTunes the other day and downloaded it, as well as all of Damien's iTunes bonus tracks that I've missed out on over the years. Good stuff.

Hey Spuddles! I think you misunderstood me. It was a "Roy" gig. My comment was referring to D's omission of the huge ballads with the astonishing (and difficult!) range,( ie.Running Scared and In Dreams) which I'm pretty sure he deliberately avoided due to his illness. Cannot imagine how he could have attempted them, they require so much breath!

Must download A Child Is Born ASAP! It's stunning! Glad everyone's enjoying it. Hope D sings it at Carols In The Domain. for you lucky Sydneysiders.

Just got back from my trip, and am tired. I'll upload some shots tomorrow if I get the time.
