I do believe this is a first for Damien .... a mention in an American newspaperTeddy Geiger nominated for Australian award Jeff Spevak Staff music critic www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070302/LIVING/70302033/1032(March 2, 2007) — Teddy Geiger recently returned from his tour of Australia, and apparently they loved him. Geiger’s “For You I Will (Confidence)” has been nominated for Spankin’ New Artist by the MTV Australian Video Music Awards. Also nominated in the category, which goes to the best single by a new artist, were Stephanie McIntosh’s “Mistake,” Lily Allen’s “Smile,” Damien Leith’s “Night of My Life,” the Lost Gospel’s “Secret Agent” and Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.” Justin Timberlake collected six nominations and Pink five. Voting for the awards, which will be announced April 29, is done through the MTV Australia Web site or through text messaging. Geiger is currently in New York City working on his new album. Perhaps a good sign for Geiger: Kristen Cavalleri, the star of Laguna Beach who was featured in the video for “For You I Will (Confidence),” is among the celebrities expected to attend the event. According to Geiger’s management, plans are being made for the Pittsford singer-songwriter to be in Australia as well. ********** Do forum members perhaps see this as a challenge from teh Yanks??

Hah, I don't think America in general is going to hold it against Damien if he kicks Teddy Geiger's butt. If anything it'll make them more interested in him. We just have to hope that Teddy's fangirls in America don't spot this and try to vote online. Not sure if they could, but... |

Yeah, I know how many million magazines Teddy has been in. It's Dean Geyer all over again. Annoying, because I think Teddy has even more potential than Dean. Nice voice, nice in interviews. I even have the special edition of his album.I just hope this award gets presented on the basis of the best talent, and not... spankability.   |
