Caught the end of interview at about 8.45 am this morning in a live broadcast from Merrylands RSL and Alan Jones played Got my mind set on you ,Here comes the sun and Leah.
He was raving about how good Damien was and he kept saying that "This is him -Listen --HOW GOOD WAS THAT--
There appeared to be a lot of people in the audience.
Jones was very complimentary about Damien's rendition of these classics.
I did not hear anything on his originals however I only caught the end of the interview

Wow, Damien is sure going flat out with the the interviews and publicity.
Thanks for telling us about this Brian, I completely missed it didn't know about it.
How wonderful that Alan Jones gave Damien such a wrap - we all know how fantastic that voice is, lovely that others recognise it too.
I'm looking forward to seeing reviews of the album.

Yes, I heard that interview too. All good publicity but listening to Alan Jones in gushing sycophantic mode always makes me want to go and wash afterwards.

This sure brings back memories! I just went back and listened to Damien's first interview with Alan Jones back in 2007 - he went to see Damien during Celebration week and gave him some words of encouragement after somebody *coughmarkcough* ripped into him. Alan took that someone down several pegs  I tell you, in terms of fandom, Alan almost puts us to shame - he's totally smitten! I love how he laughs at everything Damien says, as though he can't believe how lovely and genuine our Damo is  Also funny how he stopped mid-sentence just to listen to the music I can never hear enough praise for Damien, so this is gold  |

Allan Jones is a good man to have on your side, sounds like he really enjoys chatting to Damien.

Ahh, love it Braffy... thanks for the link. Never thought much about Alan Jones but now that I realise he's in love with Damien I have to change my opinion about him It was a great piece of publicity and of course Damien was just gorgeous as always  |
