I think it's obvious that Chris was a supporter of Damien and that this comment was at least partly a bit of fun. I don't feel any hate towards him. This just proves to me that he needs to work on his material before he's anywhere near Damien's level. Well said (yet again!) Kami! Chris is just "trying" to be funny...methinks he should not have said that really though...

I actually found Chris to be a pain in the butt the night I was at the taping of "Big Night In". Fair play to him for doing so well- he does seem like a nice guy, but doesn't know when 'enough is enough' (maybe it's just his stooooopid piss take of an Irish accent, that made my blood boil). Thanks for the post Deedee xxx Oooo Irishscorpio - is that the taping where Damien and Jess were guests? I was in that audience (with Popeye) and Chris was in the audience (with Ricky Muscat) and yes there were endless jokes *ahem* by Chris about Damien and taking off his Irish accent that it stopped being funny about half way thru .... I don't mind Chris, but I just didn't find anything very unique about him.

Have to agree that this is just Chris's idea of funny..I think they all were, and probably still are, mates, and towards the end of Idol friendly rivals...and Chris has never been shy!

When asked who Chris wanted to see win Idol after he was eliminated, he said Damien. He said they had a lot in common what with having small families already and having been out on the scene for years already also, so I'm 100% confident that last bit was a big joke. However, just so Chris doesn't go getting TOO cocky, I'll just write up a little headline to beat him on behalf of Damien. *ahem* A baby, new album, national tour, book deal & MUCH MUCH more!;D MULTIPLE ARIA AWARD WINNER, NUMBER 1 SINGLE AND ALBUM

I must say this as a big supporter of Chris, that yes it may have been a little tacky but Chris would never ,ever mean it in a nasty way.He jokes around all the time,in fact he is an extremely funny guy & also a very kind & generous one.I have sat & had drinks with Chris after one of his fantastic shows & he never said a bad word about anyone except Mark holden, but then again we were all saying bad stuff about Mark & Chris just added his 2 cents. For your info Ozlander Chris is not a SUPPORT act for Courtney .They r both equal members of their band Murphy's Lore,Courtney has just been the singer more often lately because of Chris' idol & family commitments.Chris has released a solo album & is releasing another one very soon.Murphy's Lore also toured very succesfully in the U.S. Just as an eg.When Chris was singing with Dan england he was having a go at Dan while he was on stage & Dan could hear what he was saying & Dan just laughed as he knew Chris was joking.!!

Yeah - I am sure he was mucking around and had one of those little sly grins when he said it --- unfortunatley things on paper or forums dont carry the emotion with them --- hey I saw your picture with him --- you lucky girl --- so you are skye as well right......... ;D

Yep GJ that's me,sorry if i sounded narky b4 but i don't like it when ppl resort to remarks bordering on schoolyard taunting,at least that's how i saw it ,& i'm not directing that at u GJ just so u know. I have stood up for Damien as well when ppl have said things about him too, basically i don't like any negative stuff said i guess except about Mark he is the exception I could never stand it on the AI forum when ppl had to bag each others fav all the time,i don't understand the need 4 it. Ok stepping down off my soap box now, sorry.

This comment doesn't surprise me at all. He had a massive bag about Dean Geyer (who is meant to be his friend) after Dean got through to the top 3, and Chris didn't. Sour grapes I would say. There seems to be a trend forming with this kind of comment coming from Chris Murphy.
