Some of you may know but most of you won't - My darling wife, Sherri gave birth to our gorgeous baby girl, Ella Kimberley Murphy, at 9:16 am January 19 2007. Both Mum and bub are happy, healthy and home and for more details stay tuned for the big story in 'Woman's Day' magazine within the next few weeks!

It's been a while since I've let you in on the happenings in the crazy world of Chris Murphy, so here's a bit of an update.

Late last year, post Idol, my good friend and mentor Mr Paul Gadenne agreed to be my Business Manager and we plunged straight into getting me and the boys back into the national spotlight.

Our first step was to get into the market place as quickly as possible. So the idea we came up with is to re-release my album "Elbow Room", making some changes to enhance as well as making the original version unique and ultimately one day a collectors item.

For anyone keen to find out what the changes are, here's a little sneak preview - Electric Chair / Good Deeds / Falling Apart/ Movie Star Beautiful (Reprise) and Another Sleepless Night are all being Deleted from the album. Diamond Days (new version with Chris on Vocals) Draggin' on all Night, Evie (Part 1) featuring the Legendary Stevie Wright on guest vocals, What's Next to the Moon (an obscure AC/DC track from the Bon Scott era) and I Lie Awake from the last Murphy's Lore album are all being included. Looks pretty confusing on paper, but trust me, it's sounding amazing!

The Murphy's Lore boys are all playing on the new tracks and of course Claytons parts from I Lie Awake will still be intact, so this new version is quite literally a "all hands on deck" affair!

Special thanks to everyone who came down and supported the 'Homecoming' & 'Stevie Wright' shows at the Dianella Hotel, it was wonderful to see you all and absolute blast rockin' out with the lads again.

2007 is going to be seriously big, people, so brace yourselves! It's a Murphy invasion!! Damien who?

Hmmmm, just judging by Chris's personality I would think its a little tongue in cheek. He has that kind of personality. I met Chris briefly one Monday night at Idol when we had tickets and he is a funny guy so I would hope he meant it with a bit of humour. I think Chris and Damien were mates in the house so I don't think he would wish anything bad on him? At least I really HOPE not!!!

When asked who Chris wanted to see win Idol after he was eliminated, he said Damien. He said they had a lot in common what with having small families already and having been out on the scene for years already also, so I'm 100% confident that last bit was a big joke.

However, just so Chris doesn't go getting TOO cocky, I'll just write up a little headline to beat him on behalf of Damien.

Absolutely tongue in cheek I think . At his show he was very funny ,never serious at all and made several jokes about Damien winning his title, but he was taking the mickey out of himself.(see my review of his tour- its in tv/idol discussion tread )I really don't think he could be serious to save his life.

I did a google search for chris murphy today (during my luncheon break) ... and all I came up was some dude called courtney ... he may the bb of chris, however, realistically, chis needs to step out of the bb shell ...

Get real Chris, it is time you stood up and be counted, not a a l'tle bro of someone called courtney ... I would rather be the backup for damien leith (da man) rather than to an older bro, whom I do not know ... ride the band wagon, mate!

I actually found Chris to be a pain in the butt the night I was at the taping of "Big Night In". Fair play to him for doing so well- he does seem like a nice guy, but doesn't know when 'enough is enough' (maybe it's just his stooooopid piss take of an Irish accent, that made my blood boil). I think it's obvious that Chris was a supporter of Damien and that this comment was at least partly a bit of fun. I don't feel any hate towards him. This just proves to me that he needs to work on his material before he's anywhere near Damien's level.
