Wonderful news. What will he sing? Would love to hear BEAUTIFUL with the full orchestra backing him.

Nice to see Cesar and Steve in the orchestra! Damien looked gorgeous in all black Seemed like he had an issue with the mike, but sounded lively.

I'd have preferred he sang any original off the album tonight, with such a great orchestra behind him, but maybe because it was such a busy night for them a well-known number was easier. Really have to say that performance didn't light my fire, although it picked up as he got into it. Maybe it's the song. I'm not really into it, I guess.

Awww, you can tell Dan Mac loves Damien haha. ;D I also thought there was a mic problem like you said Trilly, bugger. But anyway, I still enjoyed the performance. D was really smiling and having a good time towards the end which was lovely. It certainly was better then all the crap they have on this season right?? That does not include Mel of course We Mel.

Hmmm. This song is a bit of a mixed bag to perform live. On the one hand, it has a great live sound that makes people want to dance (I know I did when I saw him play it at Tuggerah!) On the downside, it's very repetitive, so structurally it has few points of interest and people can tire of it quickly. Maybe not the best song to use to impress. I think he just looked nervous - and I don't really blame him. Going back and performing on Idol was a bit the same, there's all the old associations with having been judged as a contestant. Must be stressful. Still, I liked it - felt kinda nervous for him, but loved the ending. Plus, he's always so cute Next time, I'd like to see Maybe Someday or Let Me Be Your Rescue - crack out the new originals!

And yeah, saw him adjusting the mic. That would help explain it. Also, was he playing lead guitar? He's always really nervous about his playing; we noticed he was strumming a mile a minute
I feel like I'm pulling apart what was really a very solid performance

I agree with you mostly, Hype. Nerves would have played a huge part tonight, he said as much when he was being interviewed by Dan -who is obviously a mate. Gotta love the way Damien seems to make everyone love him when they get to know him. Cute is right! He's always just his adorable self. He was playing his acoustic guitar and Cesar was playing lead, I think Hype.

Oh my god, couldn't stop watching him even when he was in the background, he looked like a pro!

I always love hearing Damien sing and love his appearances - he seemed really happy tonight ;D and did put some 'ooomph' into it, but personally I feel he missed the perfect opportunity to showcase both an original song, and his amazing vocal range. All week I have been hoping he would do Maybe Someday, Let me be your rescue, or Beautiful - any of those would have been perfect with the full orchestra, especially M S - they would have been gobsmacked

I know, I am 2 hrs behind you all. I loved it! Of all the covers, I think that one is the most fun to do live, really gets ya' toes tapping. I thought he was having a great time. Unfortunately my DVD recorder only came back from repairs on Thurs and I haven't been able to tune it back in to the TV so I wasn't able to record and analyze. The lighting was great , the little bit of extra stage worked well, still allowing him the luxury of a full band was cool. I think we are living in lala land if we truely think he will ever get to perform the other originals on TV
