Leith's laid-back welcomewww.themercury.com.au/article/2012/07/18/347341_tasmania-news.htmlDamien Leith in Hobart yesterday to promote his Tasmanian tour dates in September. Picture: SAM ROSEWARNEWHILE Bieber-mania grips Sydney, Damien Leith wandered the streets of Hobart yesterday in relative anonymity and the former Australian Idol winner wouldn't have it any other way. One of the highest-selling Australian artists of recent years, Leith who also made the top three on Dancing With The Stars last year was in town to promote his upcoming national tour, in which he will perform songs from his new album Now & Then. Canadian pop star Bieber can't step outside his hotel room without being mobbed by screaming teens but Leith was content to cruise around Hobart without minders or an entourage. "I wouldn't like that [Bieber level of attention] at all," Leith said. "I love being able to just go about my business and do what I need to do. "I'm really happy with how things have been going it has been steady but never over the top. I've got three kids and the last thing I'd want is for it to be a struggle just to take them to the park. "But poor old Bieber and One Direction, it's all just so pretty crazy for them." Leith performs at Wrest Point on September 14 and Country Club Tasmania the following day. I'm so pleased for Damien that he generally doesn't find his fame intrusive. I've often thought it would be difficult to conduct an existence approaching "normality" for massively recognisable stars. And aha, that's where you are, D! Was wondering what you were up to! Loved what he said on FB too.. "never mind Beiber-mania, bring on Tas-mania!"

Thanks braffy, I dont know what we would do without you and your finds and info. It is why I am a fan, he is normal. Me to Glawz could listen to the Irish accent for hours and hours. And listen to his music for hours and hours and more! I would keep buying him beers just to hear the irish voice........it would be a bit s-l-u-u-u-r-y at the end though if i bought to many! Hehehehe........Irish are funny when they are t-i-p-s-y.......can't understand a word!
