Thanks for the report and setlist Braffy, sounds like it was a great afternoon! Very exciting that the new originals are being played to a few audiences and also some great older favourites there. Thought Lilac Wine was stunning at Dee Why and so glad Damien has kept it in the set!!

Thanks for writing up the report Braffy I also thought he did a fantastic rendition of Creep (gosh I missed that song ) and boy did we let Damien know how much we appreciated him doing Golden Line and people were getting into it too . The audience at Lizottes Kincumber is always a great participation group with some really good singers, so that was fun too. Damien's gift today was a moo cow jock strap with the card saying "To the most talented, good looking performer. You make us moooooo n over you" and he thought (again) perhaps it was a mask but was told it wasn't I heard the people behind us talking and the chap was saying how terrific Damien's shows were with the music, singing, joking and chatting The audience was a mix of people of varying ages and it had a great vibe. Those who stayed back at the meet and greet were given an acapella rendition of Nessun Dorma Thank you again Damien for your generosity with meeting people and signing, having photos and giving great hugs after a fantastic show

Great setlist Braffy, can't wait for the shows next month. Still wish Damien would come down our way though, would be nice to go 'locally' to see him, and have a few other people who would enjoy it too. Never mind, he will when he wants to!

OK, my secret is out, I guess, that I went to this gig. I couldn't help myself,I just had to post on D's FB wall to tell him how much I enjoyed hearing him again, this time solo and acoustic. And at the original Lizotte's in pretty Kincumber/Avoca. Gorgeous part of the world and a place I'd been promising myself to see. It so happens that bro lives very close, so since we had organized a meet-up F2F to talk travel plans, it was kinda perfect timing. Lovely day too, as D reminded us when he sang "Sky". What a sweet blast from the past, and very different with the guitar. ;D Have to say I loved hearing D by himself. Everyone knows the band is awesome but alone onstage, just with his guitar, his glorious voice, his witty Irish charm and his music (and nowhere to hide! LOL!) Damien was magic! ;D He had the full house of happy patrons in the palm of his hand from the moment he stepped out on stage, (after a wonderful intro by Brian Lizotte, who is definitely a huge admirer.) I think he said D has the best voice in Australia. I don't disagree. I was waiting anxiously to hear D's new songs and he didn't disappoint. I agree with Shims' remarks. "Faith In Me" is very D and Joe MElson at the same time.(edit: thought I'd misspelled it! LOL) The rhythms are so Joe but the lyric and melody sound totally Damien. A really enjoyable collaboration. But it was "Stronger Than Superman" which I especially liked. It's wonderful to hear what I can only describe as Damien's recognizable musical voice again - not just his vocals. Loved it! I loved the rest of the set too (OK, maybe with the exception of *coughGrannies Songcough*). .Creep, Golden Line (just for us, thanks D) and Lilac Wine in one afternoon were guaranteed to set this fan's heart aflutter! And oh my! They were gorgeous. That falsie is as gobsmacking as it ever was - and yes, so very sexy! Loved the Irish pub songs too - a couple of naughty verses here and there made me chuckle, but he omitted the X Rated ones. Pity. Lol! The standards of Beautiful, Crying and Hallelujah were as wonderful as ever, of course. Goes without saying - but I said it anyway. Have to make one last comment. It seemed to me that D had a bit of a funky vibe as he accompanied himself on the guitar. I really liked it, whether it was intentional or not. Very cool! I'd be very happy to hear more solo Damien. It suited him. ;D 'Twas nice catching up with the Braff and Dawnie too. Thanks ladies.

I'll be back to Kincumber, it's such a cozy venue. BTW, sister-in-law is now a total D convert. She saw him in Cessnock and jumped at the chance of this gig. D's voice and charm have worked their magic on another family member!

One last thing. Reading back over the comments from D's other shows recently, everyone is remarking on how gorgeous Lilac Wine has been. I can only add my "ditto!" His rendition of it at Kincumber was so redolent with emotion and light and shade it blew me away. I was loving it when one of the waitresses decided to choose that moment to ask me a question. Arrrgh! I'm sorry if the young lady received a curt "not now!!!" but sheesh! Talk about lousy timing! Just incredible, D.
