thedwarf.com.au/interview/14178/damien-leith-takes-on-pavarotti-this-weekDamien Leith Takes On Pavarotti This WeekWednesday, April 3 2013 | by emma marie To the untrained ear, an accent is an accent, whether Irish or Italian, they all sound the same right? We would recommend you don’t tell that to Damien Leith though. The former Australian Idol star is preparing to tackle the Pavarotti favourite Nessum Dorma when he sings at Kincumer’s Lizottes Restaurant this Sunday, April 7. The aria was originally from Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot, a typically difficult theatre production. That is, unless you ask the Irish singer himself, who seems to think otherwise. “Nessum Dorma has a very big vocal range, as Pavarotti Proved, but I’m not worried at all,” Leith told the Central Coast Express Advocate, “I will do it a capella style…” Leith says the number will be a welcome change from his usual Roy Orbison covers. With six albums finished since he shot to fame in 2007, the singer says he’s ready for the challenge and welcomes the opportunity to place yet another mark on the Australian music industry. Leith’s show at Lizotte’s this week will be the first of several in his The Man And His Music tour. This will be the first time Leith has performed solo in the six years since finishing on Australian Idol. “I’ve performed at Lizotte’s at Kincumber before and it’s so intimate that I think the a capella style would suit it,” Leith said in the Express Advocate. Central Coast audiences, characteristically starved of big talents and musical diversity, are relishing Leith’s decision to kick off his tour in Kincumber.

This will be an exciting concert at a gorgeous intimate venue. Not sure about taking on Pavarotti in the headline though There is no guarantee that Damien will even do Nessum Dorma.

Glawz, I just tried the link and it took me to The Manly Daily. It needs to be the Central Coast Express (Gosford edition). It is page 38 in that.
Open the link again. Up on the top left hand side there is a dropdown arrow flag thingy. Click on the dropdown and then select Central Coast Express Advocate Gosford.
