Damien's 'The Winner's Journey' Debuts At #3 On The Charts; Irish Release Confirmed

Demand for Damien Leith's new CD/DVD release, 'The Winner's Journey', has been so great that it has debuted at #3 on the national ARIA Motorola Album Chart this week after just a tiny two days of sales! And it's not just in Oz that fans are clamouring to hear Damien's songs - 'Night Of My Life' has been exploding at radio in Ireland too, so much so that it has just been confirmed for release there.
Big times for our newest Idol Damien! Capping off a massive week that saw him make his debut video clip and score the #1 song in country with his debut single, 'Night Of My Life', Damien has debuted at #3 on the ARIA Top 50 album chart this week with his CD/DVD release 'The Winner's Journey' after just a tiny two days of sales in stores!
Greg Milne, CEO of the Brazin Group, said that the 'The Winner's Journey' went to #1 on their daily store chart within just ONE HOUR of stores receiving the release - sheesh.
Damien is truly the real deal and his Winner's Journey CD/DVD is going through the roof at retail. I know that as we move forward with Damien's solo album that this success will only continue to grow," said Denis Handlin AM, Chairman and CEO, Sony BMG Music Entertainment.
Documenting his complete Australian Idol journey from Final 12 to Final 2 on CD and DVD, it seems fans have been eagerly awaiting the chance to get recorded versions of Damien's greatest performances including his amazing renditions of 'Nessun Dorma', 'Crying', 'Hallelujah', 'Wicked Game' as well as 'Night Of My Life'.
The good news doesn't stop there either - 'Night Of My Life' has held onto the #1 spot on the Top 50 ARIA singles chart for the second week straight, giving Damo two top three releases in one swoop!
We're also extremely excited to say that Damien's star isn't just shining on our shores - Ireland has also embraced their native singer/songwriter, with 'Night Of My Life' exploding at radio there and an upcoming release of the single just confirmed, turning our newest Australian Idol into a true international success story.
All you Irish fans, keep your eyes peeled for Damien on terra firma in the coming weeks too - we've agreed to "loan" him back to you for a little while!
Yep, it'll be a huge homecoming of sorts when Damien gets to return to Ireland to do some promo ahead of the release of 'Night Of My Life' there, as well as spend Christmas with his family and friends, before jetting back to Australia in early 2007 to start work on his debut album.
