Forum upgrade - bugs/updates/questions etc 14.8.13

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd start this thread for you all to add/inform us if there is anything that needs to be looked at as we work our way through the new upgrade and what it means to us all.

There are obvious changes..like the layout etc

What I do know is that not everything we had in the old version of proboards was compatible with the new V5 Proboards. That's the part we need to find out what exactly wasn't compatible. I know the smilies are still there in the forum, it's just working out how to get them to work on this new forum layout.

The change is quite dramatic, but I think it will be a big positive once we iron out a few things and get the place looking like "home" again!

3. Plugins to customize the forums...like adding a side table etc.
4. Image sizes and image uploading



If there is anything that you need/want answered then please just post here so we can all get involved and discuss it.

Do you mean, so that you know which thread you are in? I can't remember either lol

I know it showed no.s, as Braff use to quote those sometimes, to show someone where to look for a post.

the other thing that seems to be missing is the Calender of events listed at the bottom of the page?

The numbers were also used to tell when we'd reached a certain number of posts, especially if we needed a new thread begun

Yes, the name of the thread and post numbers were there. It was especially important for the Hut, like Dawn said so that we could start a new one before it collapsed.

I just checked and if you click on Recent Posts down the bottom, it names which thread it is on each post, so maybe that's what I was thinking of, but I'm fairly sure that used to happen even if you were in one particular thread and reading through the posts.

I noticed it in Games cause half the time you're not sure which game it is you are playing and I am fairly certain I didn't have to scroll right to the top to see, it was listed in each post.

Anyway, it's not that important. You may come across it as you are getting a handle on things..if not no problem.

I think Roxy said the old skins (the coding for them) are there in the back end. She will need to link them again...although I could be completely wrong and she just meant the NAMES were there... they are.

Tthe old news fader was a lot easier to read than the piddly thing that is there now. don't know if that is able to be changed.

Also, what's the follow button for. Why do people need to be followed? It doesn't seem to fit with this forum.

Easy fix for that: go to dleithonline.proboards.com rather than damienleithonline.com. Thread titles will then appear as part of the URL.
