Multi-platinum singer / songwriter Damien Leith will take his forthcoming album Chapter Seven on the road with a national Australian Tour beginning in Perth on Thursday 31st October. The show will be an intimate acoustic setting and will feature all his new songs as well as some of the songs he's well-known for. Audiences will be treated to beautifully crafted songs, some he even wrote with legendary Joe Melson who wrote Roy Orbison's Crying and Only the Lonely.

"I'm really looking forward to taking these songs on the road and getting out to places I haven't been to in a while," said Damien.

The "Without A Fight" Tour will travel to Australian capital cities and regional centres, including Perth, Joondalup, Mandurah, Gold Coast, Redcliffe, Brisbane, Mudgee, Katoomba, Cronulla, Woolongong, Launceston, Hobart, Canberra, Melbourne, Nowra, Taree, Port Macquarie and Sydney.

Chapter Seven is Damien's seventh album since 2006. The acoustic pop and folk release represents an exciting new direction for the Irish-born Australian. Two years in the making, the album will be Damien's first as a producer and first with independent Sydney-based label Social Family Records. Damien penned 12 new original tracks for the album, which he recorded in Sydney in a studio he built himself.

Famed producer and sound engineer David Nicholas - who has worked with luminaries from Elton John to INXS - mixed Chapter Seven and co-produced some of the tracks. Other great hit makers such as Gary Clark (Natalie Imbruglia, The Wanted, The Veronicas) and Jon Vella (Meatloaf, Ricky Martin) have added their touch to the album along with legendary Nashville-based songwriter Joe Melson. Famed for penning a string of rhythm and blues hits with the one and only Roy Orbison, including Only The Lonely and Crying, Joe Melson has been writing with Damien for some time now and Joe has become a close friend and mentor to Damien.

good to see you getting around the country again, I am in Canberra at the moment and notice you won't be gracing us. Can't get to Sydney so have enjoyed an hour recapping your achievements via youtube. Still makes me drop a few tears listening to you. Hope to see you soon...yet again.

That's a shame you missed Damien in Canberra Anthony. He was there 2 weeks ago on the 29th November at the Abbey. There is a video of him singing 'I Can Stop You Crying' which was filmed there.

Andy Brown was really good and the audience really gave Damien something to bounce off.

Hi Anthony, that is such a shame. Next show you will have to catch . I have also wanted to head up to Canberra as distance is same for me as Melbourne. Anthony have you done any of the Wagga shows.? The shows are just getting better all the time. Stay posted for some country ones next year.

I will start off by saying YAY! We have kept the tradition going by getting lost finding our Hotel.

It was great to see Spud there at the Basement too.

The numbers grew as the night went on and Andy didn't start until nearly 9.30 pm. It was good to be able to hear his full set since I missed some/most of it last week.

He has some really nice songs ♫

After the interval Damien, Eric and Chris were on.

They started with Halfway Heart and the audience was a good one.

As mentioned before, Dawn has the setlist so she will give you the order they were in.

However, the requested songs that were played tonight were Nessum Dorma, Hallelujah, Night Of My Life (for the lady next to us as it was her birthday), LAST SAD SONG (a few chorused this request) Granny's Song but Last Sad Song won. That sounds SOOOOOOOO good live. It sounds fabulous on the album Chapter Seven but live just gives it extra punch and audience bopping along. Waiting On An Angel (again for the lady having the birthday )

Andy came back out and they did both of the songs they co-wrote together Never Forget and See You Again.

There was also the Crying and I Can Stop You Crying Joe Melson double, although one of the requests was in the middle of them.

Beautiful and the Estee Lauder connection (although I haven't seen the ad this Christmas.)

Other songs too that Dawn will write up about.

I must say too that Lonely Nights is a great song sung live. I felt very happy with the song choices in the show. Lots more I would have loved to have heard too, but it was already late when the show finished.

Damien did a meet and greet after the show and I was told that he will be on The Morning Show (Channel 7) on Thursday morning and also SBS 2 Thursday night on a football show Thursday FC. 8.30 - 9.30 pm singing 2 songs

All in all it was a terrific night (except for the exhorbitant price of a meal and show ticket) It meant that we were paying $55 each for a 2 course meal.

I will add more after Dawn's post if I think of anything that she hasn't covered.

Oh yes, Andy gave Damien a gift when he came back on stage to sing with Damien. I will leave the gift talk to Dawn

As Braffy said Andy Brown came on at 9:25pm and gave a good selection of songs, with audience participation....he's also modified his special effects microphone since I heard him at the Brass Monkey and he told the story about losing your passport not making you an Australian Citizen.....errrrr neither does claiming to be Damien Leith Andy.....we can tell you know
Was lovely to Spud there with company and to have a little chat with her.
There was also a lady at the table behind us who was behind us at the Vanguard.
At 10:30pm Eric and Chris came onto the stage, followed closely by Damien with big cheers from the audience.....some noisy, hearty males too. Damien has had a haircut. He wore a grey and dark grey striped tshirt, a dark grey jacket, brown pants (although they look burgundy in my shots) and black shoes..
Started with
*Halfway Heart and told us about the woes in Taree, where he bent over and split his pants and the disastrous soy latte and how the truck crashed into the car, turning the corner . Then sang
*A Million Reasons. Told us about the Estee Lauder campaign and sang
*Beautiful
Talked about how hard it is on the road and about how Eric misses his kitten (aawwwwwww) and sang
*Lonely Nights Then by request we had
*Crying and
*Nessun Dorma followed by the follow up to Crying
*I Can Stop You Crying Then feeling in the Christmas mood and with Eric playing the TE role they performed
*When a Child is Born .Then Andy came back on stage and gave Damien his beanie (well worn) as a Christmas gift and they sang
*Never Forget
I gave Damien his gift ( To the most talented, handsome performer so you can have variety in your attire) (the top was day wear and the bottom was nightwear) but Damien and Andy decided to share and Eric wanted to know what went where
Damien and Andy then sang
*See You Again and as it was near Christmas we had a rendition of
*Santa Claus is Coming to Town then we had a final request
*Hallelujah
They all went off and of course came back for an encore
*Waiting on an Angel followed by another request (pheeeeew we won )
*Last Sad Song.-> Everywhere You Go -> Last Sad Song and by request (we beat Granny's Song) and one chap was informed that loud whistling didn't win any vote, it had to be by cheering and applause.

It certainly was a lively crowd and they all had agreat time showing their appreciation and Andy and Damien also came out after the show for a lengthy meet and greet....also met Andy Brown's manager....she works at the Brass Monkey .
Braffy and I got to chat with Damien and Yesssss Lizottes will be back and we talked about his holiday and work in Ireland, then England and Sweden
Damien said he could have kept doing encores, but it was getting late (and it was)
Thanks for the great show Damien, Eric, Chris and Andy (poor Chris had to drive home as his son was being christened Sunday morning)

Thanks Dawn. I remembered about the accident after I had posted but I thought I would see if you mentioned it. Eric had just pulled up outside a coffee shop and Damien had gone in to get the coffees when a truck came around the corner and hit the hire car. They had picked up the hire car and had only gone about 300 metres if I remember correctly.
