Thanks Braffy ! Glad you got your song request too. Hope you had a great time too. Ditto Smiley! Glawzy it is totally audience and audience mood. Went to master 9 "s hip hop dance concert today! What is wrong with people, when you get in trouble for clapping, and a little wohoo at "END" to support the kids on! Glawzy I will sit next to you Wohooing anytime, and all others too. It is meant to be fun...make it fun.
Princey hope you had a fantastic birthday.......I just love the FB pic too of Mr Princey with Mr You know who! Enjoy your break, much deserved.
Kazza really nice pic too!
Glad a few of you went, look forward to posts. And thank you!

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted before now my wifi credits ran out and I had trouble recharging but it's all good now, I had a great night at Dural, it a lovely venue, unfortunately we had a bit if an accident before we got there, so that was a bit of a downer, we bumped into Damien when we were signing in to the club and said a quick hello, it was lovely seeing Kazza, Michele and Braffy, Shims and P, like Braffy said the crowd was a bit lack lustre, I wondered if they would move if there was a bomb in the place, Damien didn't disappoint, I was thrilled to bits when he sang You And I for me, as a special birthday request, I almost cried but was able to compose myself, it made the night so special, we didn't hang around too long, it was such a huge day if travelling for Greg and myself, just enough to get a HUG and say goodbye, Eric is still confused as to where I live

Thanks for the report Braffy.
Terrific set list.
It really surprises me when you get an audience like that because it really takes the gloss off the whole show experience.
I have been to concerts like that but fortunately not a Damien concert.
Damien's vocal range is amazing.

I'm glad it wasn't me that felt that vibe Princey. I have had thanks from the others on my table for organizing our tickets so at least a couple of tables were happy. Oh, not forgetting the fellow at the back of the room who was very much into it too.
(We were on a different table to Kaz, Michele, Princey and Shims)
The bomb scenario is one to think about. I really don't think they would have moved lol..
I have already said it took just on an hour for us to get our meals, so I guess the whole place is like that.
Yes Brian, luckily I have been to other concerts of Damien's and never experienced how I was feeling on Friday night. I had to explain to my friends that it is usually bouncing at his gigs. Dancing in the aisles quite often, standing ovations - the lot. Hard to know what they were thinking really.

It must be a downer for Damien when he gets an audience like that, a full house maybe, but no feedback for him to bounce off. Must be disappointing. Makes me wonder why they bother going. However, there were many people who were not quiet I'll bet!! As I've mentioned before, Launceston audiences are a little like that (except for me) but there are always a few guys who do the whistle, and people do clap and appreciate Damien's music, I guess some people are just more reserved and embarrassed about making a spectacle of themselves (except for me again.) Agree with you Plugger, I'll be there woohooing at anything I enjoy. What is wrong with people when they won't give a bunch of kids encouragement, can't understand it.

Thanks for the reports Braffy and Princey hmmmmmmm sounds like D and Eric were in fine form.....shame about the patrons as long as you guys and your friends had a great time...but yes...makes it harder for the performers

Every show can be different dependent on audience. Audience participation is everything. If you stand up and Wohoo at a participating crowd, you are deemed a good fan, if you do it at a non- active audience you are deemed a nut! I get to go to 1 or 2 shows a year, and I go to truly enjoy and Wohoo ! I have been told once to be quiet, this was Wagga. The person that said this was not in the right frame of mind, not in a concert space of mind on night. And may be should not have been there. Music can be an outlet or escape for many. I am not obnoxious, rude, or offensive ever. And I do possess common courtesy always. So I go to enjoy!

Yes Glawzy, when I and my friend (who has a husband with a terminal illness) are told to be completely be quiet, not even clap at our kids end of year dance concert, I have a problem! It is about the kids. I think it's the same at a Damien show, if a fan wants to enjoy and clap and participate.....that is just what it is about....enjoyment!
Good on you Glawzy for enjoying Launie ! And Princey so glad you got to have a special birthday , with a special song! No harm in having fun,! Ever is it !

Should have thought of that myself for the Brissie shows. Very close to my bday! Oh well..I did get him to sign my CD with "Not you again!" (rofl)
