Sorry I've been so long posting the report, but we only arrived home last night. I've posted some not so good photos in the photo thread.
Firstly, the venue was pretty much sold out, certainly the downstairs level was packed and they had a few rows upstairs also which I had never seen opened at this venue... so good. The audience at Launceston are pretty geriatric (says she!!). They are certainly an older, more conservative crowd, but they obviously love Damien. There were a few younger ones interspersed though, and lots of whistles and appreciative noises coming from the crowd. Many, including myself gave a standing ovation at the end of the show.
Andy Brown... well I've heard others talk about how good he is - and he is! Loved his originals and his unusual voice... soft and smooth to strong and raspy, so he has it all. He did Springsteens I'm on Fire and it was fantastic.
Damien, well of course he was his normal gorgeous self and in good voice. The three boys, Eric, Andy and Damien have on stage chemistry, that's for sure and Andy joined Damien in singing the two songs they co-wrote.
Set List:-
Halfway Heart A Million Reasons Beautiful Lonely Nights Only the Lonely I can stop you crying Damien threw out a request from the crowd and we had:
Unchained melody Danny Boy
Last Sad song Crowded house' Always Take the weather (is that the correct title?) Creep (My request, more about it in the Hut) Never Forget See you Again Hallelujah Without a Fight Stronger than Superman Encore: Crying Pretty Woman.
Eric, Andy and Damien had a meet and greet after the show and the queue was long - not everybody stayed but they ran out of CD's and Eric had to go out the back and get more, so the songs were very well accepted (why wouldn't they be... !)
I had some photos taken with each of them, Eric first, he was selling Chapter Seven, Andy was flogging his own and we had a laugh when he asked my name to write on the cover, I started singing the Van Morrison GLORIA and told him and Eric that I'd told the girls it had to be played at my funeral, nothing like planning ahead, and they both laughed. When I got to Damien, Andy told him to write on the record cover to 'Lovely Gloria" which Damien did, and I was pretty chuffed!! Andy must have liked my warped sense of humour!
Nothing much else to say, great venue, great show, great artists and music.
We took the dinner and show option, dinner at the Terrace restaurant, the upmarket a la carte one upstairs. Beautiful food, would recommend it if you go to Launceston.

Thank you Lovely Gloria It's great that they all have a good rapport with each other. Makes for a fun show. The setlist looks really good. Can't escape Danny Boy, but Damien sings it so well so I can certainly see why people request it.

Aww thanks Glawzy! So glad you had a great time. Eric is great value isn't he. Your not Geriatric.......never will be! And keep the warped humour, it keeps you sane sometimes, take it from someone that knows. Age is but a number.....always will be. Did you take your bickies? My own Damian DH, wants you to leave them behind again, so does master 9. They like your cooking! I wonder if Damien and Eric eat them all , or if they take them home. The Leith family probably love your beautiful cooking by now. Eil's might have a high level of cooking experience to compete with. Although I am sure she would be a beautiful cook too!
So, so great that shows are filling up and selling well!
Thanks for report, will go and look at your pics. Oh you have another show this week, tomorrow , you social butterfly! Enjoy. Just wish I could be there, need a show! Music is the greatest therapy and distraction. It just takes you some place else.........well it does me.
