Thanks Braffy--I was not on line to read this however I switched on 2GB at about 8.45 am today and Alan was responding to a male caller who said "that he has all Damien's albums and he said that he (Damien) is Australia's Roy Orbison but he is even better than Roy" Alan then said Damien is an absolutely wonderful person and played a bit of "Last Sad Song"/Faith in me"/Without a Fight"commenting on just how good is that and mentioning that "Chapter Seven" is out now. No doubt Damien was on earlier and it is obvious that Alan Jones thinks very highly of him not only as a singer but a terrific person as well. I didn't think to keep listening after the interview had finished. Alan Jones is so rude not letting people answer the questions or letting them finish answering. He often answers for the guest and gets it wrong. My sister contacted me to say that this morning (Friday)just before 6.30am, Alan Jones was talking about Damien again and gushing about Faith In Me and played it. Was waxing on about the lyrics. Later in the program he was telling people if they wanted to buy books as a Christmas present then to buy Damien's.

Well Alan Jones definitely knows musical talent both in songs and voices.
He has been a admirer and supporter of Damien for a long time and Alan Jones has an enormous radio following throughout Australia.
Pity 2GB does not play great music because I think Damien would be getting a lot of air play.

Thanks for updates and info Braffy and Brian. Very interesting. How much airplay is happening for Damien? I posted in another thread about ringing and emailing our local radio station with no luck! Wow that's a huge compliment another Roy Orbison but better..........any tips on how you get the airplay.......anyone......

Damien was on 2GB again this afternoon on the Ben Fordham Show. It was a live broadcast from a car yard. 2GB were giving away a car this afternoon. It was Ben's birthday today. I could have kicked myself this morning  I turned the radio on in the kitchen which I rarely do. It was on 2CH. I was listening for a little while, while I was having breakfast. I was going out so I went up to my room to finish getting dressed and came back to the kitchen to turn the radio off and stopped in my tracks. I was hearing the ending of I Can Stop You Crying  Bob Rodgers then spoke to Damien and mentioned it being the new single, asked him the name of the album and about his tour. Damien said he was playing at The Basement on the 14th December which will be the last show of the tour. HEY DAMIEN - WHAT ABOUT DURAL ?? This Friday night remember?? I couldn't beleive it wasn't mentioned.  Like I said, I was about to turn the radio off because I was going out and I started to try and find the phone number to ring the station to tell them about Friday. I finally found it and rang to tell them. I don't know if they then mentioned it onair because I raced straight out of the door and was dropped at the train station and the train was coming as I was going down the stairs. The interview must have started just after I went up to my room so I have no idea what was said. 2CH don't do podcasts either  |
