Here we go with the interview on 97-3fm Lake Macquarie Radio 11/12/13
DJ introduced Damien by saying he was born in 1976 in Dublin and now lives in Australia. Won Aus Idol ib 06.
Played 'Without A Fight' the first song off the new album 'Chapter Seven'
'Chapter Seven' is going to be the answer to the quiz after the interview.
DJ was saying it is a beautiful album. An inspiration for Damien
Damien said he wanted to record it for a while.
12 months ago he decided to do it independently and in his own studio.
DJ mentioned about inspiring Joe Melson to co-write. Damien explained who Joe Melson was and some of the great songs that he had co-written with Roy Orbison.
DJ mentioned the Roy CD. Damien said that Joe heard the Roy CD and wanted to make contact with Damien and so they met.
Fast forward 2 years and there are 2 songs on the album co-written with Joe.
Joe hasn't released anything since Roy died.
DJ said that there is a touch of Roy that comes through and that they will play I Can Stop You Crying.
DJ mentioned Idol again and said he didn't realize that Damien was a novelist.
Damien said yes, two novels - both fiction. A touch of romance, drama. He's writing the next one, won't be released until next year.
DJ mentioned Dancing With the Stars and the 11kg weight loss. He was after some hints. Damien said it was grueling 30 hours training through the week and then flying to Melbourne Saturday for the Sunday show. He wore lots of different clothes. It was very hard.
Now playing 'I Can Stop You Crying'.
DJ mentioned the tour. Damien said the tour is winding down only 4 more shows to go (didn't mention where) 4 more to go and then a break for Christmas and will kick off again in April.
DJ asked does he know where he is playing or does someone have to tell him each time. Damien said they have been in a lot of places but he has been pretty up to date on where he is going although Brisbane was hard (knowing where he was playing at).
He said he was at Speers Point for the Carols on the weekend and he was amazed at how big it was. He couldn't believe how many cars were there. Massive event.
DJ said ther were now going to play 'Time To Go' since it was now time to go and that they would be giving away the album if you knew what the name of the new album was called and if you didn't know then here is 'Time To Go' off the new album 'Chapter Seven'.
(Entries were going to be put into a draw) Also, songs from the album would be played again through the week and the DJ probably next Tuesday night would have more to give away.

Thanks again Braffy. I had to laugh at Thornbury when Damien was talking about Joe Melson being the writer of "Crying", and that "I can stop you Crying" is the sequel!

The radio show today with Damien co-hosting does not do live streaming so we will have to wait for some sort of podcast. He is in Taree.
