Hello lovelies, Yes we did, Dawnie, and after seven and a half years DH has finally accompanied me to a gig. (He's currently snoring softly beside me as I write. Ha!) He really enjoyed the show and remarked to me that D is a terrific entertainer as well as a wonderful singer, before bolting from the crowds of fans who clamoured around D and Eric after the show. He's not quite ready for that yet! LOL! As for The Old Mill here in Hahndorf, it's a much larger venue than I'd envisaged for some reason. Stone, of course, but softened with timber. A long room, with a high stage and tables arranged longitudinally. And a buffet dinner. quite nice for a change. We were right up the front but D was still some distance from us. Not exactly an intimate space but atmospheric when the audience of some 300 (at a guesstimate) got into the singalongs. D was again sounding brilliant, though I think last night's singing was marginally better. The banter and hilarity with the audience was hysterical however. He was very relaxed and having a ball up there with Eric. Haha, we even got a couple of verses of Seven Drunken Nights, complete with stumbles! AND a jig on request, which I think he did to stay warm! It was a tad cold in the cavernous space of the room. All of us were feeling it, even the Irishman, so brrr! We had less of Chapter Seven tonight, though we did hear Never Forget, Halfway Heart, Without A Fight, I Can Stop You Crying, A Million Reasons, Lonely Nights and, especially for us, See You Again. (Thanks D). Oow, and Stairway To Heaven! Awesome! Hadn't heard that in a while and it went down a treat with the audience. Danny Boy had it's turn out into the light tonight. Kath and I both remarked that, yep, we know why people don't like the song but there is no denying that Damien sings it incredibly beautifully. ND and 7 oops 22 Steps made the cut tonight again too. As well as that smashing a capella Leah, one of several songs D sang unaccompanied this evening. I think Eric must have had his fee docked. Baha! Trying to remember exactly what cracked us up tonight, but it was more "the vibe of the thing". As the audience warmed to D, the stories became funnier and funnier and the off the cuff exchanges were more frequent. D with his guard down just letting rip is freakin hilarious! ( I still want to get him drunk one day and just stand back! Bahaha!) As I said, the signing went well. So many newbies at these two gigs were wearing that gobsmacked expression we love to see, and have come to expect. Great way to end the tour. Gunna miss him again. Siigh. Oh and I met the two Cheryls tonight, Braff.

Gee, it sounds like this was such a friendly, relaxed show. It is so good to hear the Damien is comfortable in his own skin and with his wn show to go off in a different direction. He really does play to the mood of the audience. You've got to love Seven Drunken Nights to get people into a good mood. Damien sings it so well. Funny song. It's pleasing to know that a lot of newbies are seeing Damien and loving his music. Thanks for the report again Trilly. It's great that you managed to meet Cheryl 1 and Cheryl 2.

Thanks Trilly for the report on the night. Wrapped that all that attended had a great night....how could you not with a show like the one that Damian and Eric give. They are becoming quiet famous I think......they are truly jumping leaps and bounds at becoming the best entertainers. Well done guys ! Good on them, and best of wishes for all the success they deserve.
Hope there were lots of new listeners out there Trilly. I am sure there were. It's great !
Damian is lucky to have people like Braffy, Dawn, Princey, Kris, Di, Glawzy, Annie, Kazza, Michelle, Spud, Nixter, Doc,Smiley, Kath , Maggie May, yourself and so, so many more supporting ( sorry did not mean to miss anyone here . Some really go beyond and try so hard to help promote. What would we do without a great support network.
Let's hope for many more shows and many mòre new fans too.

hehe knew you would Trilly, but how terrific that DH really enjoyed the show....and it truly is eh Sounds like a warm, friendly and relaxed evening, so glad that lots of newbies were able to experience the charm of Mr Leith Thank you for coming in and writing up a great report Trilly....yes he does sing it beautifully, but ..... there are so many others he also does so well...we could make a very loooooong list Really great that the audiences have been getting into the singing....they seem to derive so much more pleasure with their own participation (even if off tempo.....or attempting harmonies ) and yes...they are a funny duo ....great entertainment

Just wanted to say that DH made a comment which I was somewhat gobsmacked by. He said that D " does Roy better than Roy sometimes". Wow! Big call. However , I respect my husband's musical taste and judgement a great deal, so that was massive coming from him. I'm not entirely sure that I agree with him, but it shows just how impressed he was. I love that. PS DH likes Kasey Chambers whom I cannot stand due to her nasal whine, so we don't always agree! haha!

It's interesting to hear that your DH said that Trilly. That sentiment has been said many times, so he is yet another one to voice it.
Damien really does do Roy so well and with respect.
