Hello lovelies, Thought I'd pop in to tell you that it is awesome being able to hear D sing in a very nice venue then walk home ! Haha! Seriously, it was just a short stroll from the Norwood Hotel, a very SA venue. Lots of stone and wood, quite atmospheric, with high, spidery chandeliers and pink plush curtains. D was in an excellent mood tonight and sounded amazing, of course. It's always an intense pleasure to hear him sing again after a gap. You are reminded just how bloody awesome he really is. Goosebumps for me and a couple of newbies next to me. I love it when that happens. I especially loved that he sang many songs from Chapter Seven, and although most of the crowd didn't know them, they listened with rapt attention. He sang a particularly beautiful rendition of Stronger Than Superman tonight. I adored it, as I did all of The C 7 material. Adelaide audiences are a bit like the city- reserved but classy. By the time he had wowed them with a few selections from Roy they were well and truly under his spell. The banter was funny between him and Eric as usual too- especially Eric's "Spanish Irish" impersonation *cough* of Damien haha! Didn't keep a set list but was rapt when he immediately responded to a loud request for Creep, echoed by another lady who said she'd been promised it. Haha! 22 Steps (Stabs) had a run tonight and it sounded quite lovely too. Maybe it's improved with being a rarity. Nessun Dorma made an impressive appearance but I would have soo preferred Running Scared (*ahem*, Mr Aranda. ) Crowdies Weather With You showed up too. Loved that. (PS. I'm never sure of that song's title. It's right now! Ha! ) Eric was in fine fettle tonight. Could see one chap in my line of sight really getting into his guitar. Signing line was well patronised after the gig and D was chirpy. He's looking very well and happy, which made me smile. Again - I walked home. How freakin cool is that? Haha! PS. A word about Alex, the young woman who supported him. She has a very sweet voice, and is an accomplished songwriter for her age, I found her quite impressive. The songs I enjoyed most were the more upbeat of her set, ie the rappy ones. She puts a tad more oomph into her delivery and it sounds great. Had to laugh though when she sang a cover of "Walking On Sunshine" which she said she'd just discovered. Ah, youth. LOL! Her guitarist knows how to play, as well. PPS. Damien absolutely stopped everyone in their tracks with his gobsmacking a capella rendition of Leah, as requested by the demanding lady on his right. Haha! Just stunning.

That sounds like a great concert Trilly. Added bonus not having any transport costs. Nessun Dorma has made its' way into all the concerts on this leg of the tour I think. Creep has happened a couple of time too. I am so glad that he is doing a lot of the Chapter Seven songs. So nice to hear HIS songs. Did they have enough CD's for sale? (They ran out in QLD) Thanks for coming online and writing a report.

Yes. They seemed to have enough merch this time Braff, including a selection of his albums. Princey, I caught up with Di and her daughter and Kath and her hubby. I realised that other fans were there but didn't have the opportunity to say hi. Di and I were seated at a large table of patrons who were a happy bunch of mostly noobs who really enjoyed the show. Of course it wouldn't be a Outing without a stuff-up. When I got there they couldn't find my booking. I thought I might end up listening from the street at one point. Ha! Turns out I'd been accidentally booked for another artist by the person who took my call. All was sorted fairly quickly I have to say, and the complimentary glass of red was well appreciated. So looking forward to Hahndorf tonight - if I can find something to wear! I don't think my nightie will work haha!

I can only echo what Trilly has said. D sang most of the songs from Chapter Seven, and included most of my favourites. Leonie and Monica (guitar goddess) were at our table with along with four newbies, who thoroughly enjoyed the show too. Adelaide audiences can be fairly staid, but given it was a small venue the sing a long bits went pretty well, and people were obviously enjoying themselves. I never seem to get over the thrill of Damien (and Eric) recognising me Should add that my DH, who likes Damien but doesn't have stars in his eyes, thought that D's high notes last night were as good as he has heard, and that the a capella rendition of Leah was gobsmacking. It takes a real singer to stand still and sing a slow song like that with no accompaniment and still look comfortable. Can't wait for another go tonight

Thanks again ladies. Damien's voice on this tour has been fabulous. He is ALWAYS good, but it seems unimaginable that he can be better, but this is what is happening. He gets better and better.
I'm pleased you met Monika. She was the lady I was texting you about with the spare ticket since the original person was unable to attend. Leonie was thrilled to be able to go and it was a late birthday night out for her.
I hope you all have a great night tonight too. I'm sure you will. ♫

Thanks Braff. I totally concur with your remark about D's singing constantly improving. How IS that possible? In fact, we were conversing with a couple of chaps about that very thing as we waited in line after the show. I had remarked to Di that I thought his lower register is better than ever right now, and one of the fellas said that he's utterly amazed by D's range and power, yet he doesn't have to shout. There's nothing forced about his voice, it's all so relaxed, full-throated and totally beautiful. His upper reg/falsetto is just as good, if not better than ever too. Amazing!
