Thanks Braffy
a great night
The support was Tegan Wiseman (only 17) and from what was said she has supported him at another show. She began at 8pm...her songs were fairly sad.
Then Damien came out with Eric at 9pm. He wore a bluish tshirt with writing and pics (Amsterdam) blue denim jacket, dark blue tight jeans and his brown leather shoes and began the night with
* Beautiful and proceeded to tell us about his youth when he wore tight white jeans and also about when he wore shorts with tights underneath and his Doc Martens
. Then did his new single
* Halfway Heart, then talked about missing Kikki's birthday and talked about reasons/excuses
* A Million Reasons. Then apologised for his accent as he'd recently been to Ireland and then had St Patrick's day....long weekend/celebrations....perhaps people couldn't understand him....but all his kids have Aussie accents
Then talked about working with Barbara Orbison and
* Crying. Talked about how people thought he hadn't changed a bit in the 8 years since Idol (still buns of steel
) Next
* Lonely Nights. Talked about brushing up on his Irish dancing
and how he and Eric were in an Irish band, but they stopped being given drink tokens as they were way too happy.
* Never Forget ( and the band of 50 Damiens in the background.....gone up from the 30 on Thursday night
) and then the sequel song of
* I Can Stop You Crying (not really)
* Only the Lonely which was a singalong song. Eric left the stage moonwalking backwards. Someone was talking about his disco song in Idol and Damien gave a demonstration of the Celebrate dancing. Next a breathtaking
* Leah a capella and a request
* Danny Boy
then Eric came back
* 22 Steps
* Here Comes the Sun and I gave him his gift (Eric declared I had a lingerie business, so they were both surprised by the gift)
and what a surprise to find it was an elephant puppet
aka as snuffleupicus by Damien (who decided that Kikki would love playing with it.....Like Damien did with Eric in the show
)
* Last Sad Song which rolled into
* Everywhere You Go and then rolled into
* Horse With No Name. then a request
* Hallelujah and Sleepwalker....this roused some wolf whistles
* Without a Fight (some singalong)
Encore
* Walking in Memphis - part and part of
* Country Road
* In Dreams
* Stronger Than Superman and finally
* Pretty Woman with some jig and a singalong of scat
The audience was mainly middle aged with some younger, but they had a wonderful time with some giving a standing ovation at the end and a meet and greet at the end. My friend Dian had a wonderful time and again Damien was very generous with his time at the end. Eric decided that the timimng on the audience singing was initially off tempo, but they became more confident and sang along with gusto (if not style
certainly much enthusiasm) I applauded his not wearing a cap and he was awww just trying it out
