Il Divo’s Sebastien Izambard Puts Together All Star Charity Song For Aussie Family

Sebastien Izambard of Il Divo has gathered an incredible line-up of Australian stars to raise funds for the children of the Donnell family from Manly and others to fight the fatal and rare genetic condition Sanfilippo Syndrome.


Izambard has congregated Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Darren Hayes, Luke Steelem David Campbell, Diesel, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Ella Hooper, Marlisa, Alex Lloyd, Christine Anu, Nathaniel, Katy Steele, Casey Donovan, Damien Leith and Pete Murray with the Australian Children Choir to record a cover of the Kate Bush song ‘A Woman’s Work’.

Sebastien is the ambassador for the Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation Australia. “As a father of three young children myself, l could not sit back and watch these two precious children suffer from such a debilitating and ultimately fatal disease. This could be my children, this could be any of our children. My wish is to see Isla and Jude grow up and be given a chance at life, a chance every child deserves, Sebastien said.

Australia is a special place for Sebastien Izambard. He has an Australian wife Renee who was working in the Australian music industry when they met. “I am so humbled and thankful for the support of the Australian music artists lending their vocals. It is such a unique and beautiful quality of the Australian culture, banding together in times of need and one that every Australian should feel proud of” he said.

Isla and Jude Donnell have the disease. A clinical trail has opened by in February in the USA for 15 children. The project hopes to raise $1.4 million to allow even one of the children to be part of the trial.

‘A Woman’s Work’ is being recorded over the next two weeks. Sebastien is flying to Australia this Friday to continue working on the track. The song will be available for pre-order now and available from December 5.

Thanks BRAFFY, I will certainly support it and buy a copy. I know every year Glawzy donates money a selected charity rather than posting all these Xmas cards. Not saying that she does not want to share the Xmas cheer or give people cards. I thought what a good idea. This might be a great present for people.

And as Annie always says .....Always be kind to yourselves and others. It is not that hard is it.

I think it is an iTunes single Plugz, not a physical CD that you can wrap and give. I've ordered a copy. So many big names singing on it. It got me just by having Damien but throw in Darren Hayes and I didn't need to know any more.
