The Parting Glass at Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre....another fabulous show. Without giving this show away .....again different to Albury. The play included both the father and son conversation. A slight twist on a couple of the songs too. More of an Irish addition added into 'Wicked Game'....it was very good!
A new joke regarding a tractor had us all in fits too..I think the tractor was a Masey Ferguson.
The first half of the show the audience were fairly quiet and subdued compared to Albury. But in saying this the lady next to me sang (quietly) away all night ....saying repeatedly how good and clever Damian was. He certainly (as always ) captured the audience.
After the intermission ....the audience stepped up . Gloria mentioned to Damien a problem with the sound in the first half of the show....which D mentioned as well. All seemed to be fine in the final half of show.
Damien appeared relaxed and happy....becoming more the expert with gauging his audience and reading their responses.
He did his Irish jig, which all loved!
The poor fella whacked himself in the mouth....I think with his guitar (Glaw knows more on this as she spoke to D about it). ....D just commented to her that it did actually hurt.
The show was packed...which was great. . A more mature audience for sure.
Eric broke a string on his guitar to, which he pulled off really well with his great sense of humour.
After the show ....again they all gave of their time . Jess is just the most beautiful girl...being the first one to come up and greet us with a hug and recognising Glawz's cousin by name ....only having met her once. We spoke of her nomination with "Raw" and certainly encourage everyone to listen and vote for this gifted girl. Very humble and very polite and respectful of others.
I think a few of D's CD's were purchased and signed, which was great.
Damien always the gentleman that he is was happy to see us and appeared relaxed and happy.
I think he would have to be happy with the night as certainly a lot of new people at the show. He did mention telling your friends and sharing FB and tweets too .
My GF who attended for the first time said she loved the show and commented on the talent of Damian. I won't say anymore as will wait for Glawz to report in and give her update...or better still write one of her fantastic reviews.
I hope everybody gets the opportunity to see this show....well done to Damienat d also the very talented Black Velvet Band.
