April 2016 marks the 80th birthday of the legendary Roy Orbison and to celebrate, Damien Leith will perform a strictly limited run of dates of his stage show, ‘Roy – A Tribute to Roy Orbison’.

Leith has a very close affiliation and connection with the Big O, having recorded and worked with the late Barbara Orbison and continues to write with legends that worked with Roy Orbison, regularly in Nashville.

Leith last toured this show in 2011 to sold out theatres nationally and will pay tribute to ‘The Big O’ like only Damien can.

Performing with full band, audiences will hear all their favourites. Songs like ‘Pretty Woman’, ‘Only the Lonely’ and ‘You Got It’ will have you tapping your feet while haunting ballads like ‘In Dreams’, ‘Leah’ and of course ‘Crying’ will have you yelling out for more.

Ok, so yes it was bloody awesome! That setlist was unbelievable, that could be in part because I haven't heard a lot of these songs for a while (no radio/CD working in my car : ( ). I am not going to tell you what he sang because there were many pleasant surprises for me and I want you to have those same thrills. Let's just say $50 for 20 songs is great value! Damien's voice is in outstanding mode right now. Adelaide tonight? Love, love, love it! P.S. the hip is back!!!!!! ; P

Went to see @damienleith last night at his "Roy: A Tribute to Roy Orbison" show. Damien's one of the rare gems whose voice live is as good as it is on CD. This year marks the 10th year since Damien became Australian Idol. It's my second time seeing him live and besides being an amazing musician, he's extremely down to earth and always has time for a quick hello and a hug. Wonderful human being

Have to echo Deb. D was utterly sensational last night in Adelaide. So confident, so funny, so absolutely ON. The voice was honestly to die for, he did Roy's music complete justice- and that's no easy feat. Even the most die-hard Orbison fan would've left that tribute satisfied.
Ten years on D can still amaze and surprise me. The sheer depth of his talent is really only now being seen because of his vast experience , I think. TPG and these consummately professional shows are breathtaking. Bring on more originals too!

ROY SHOW at Chatswood on Friday, April 22, 2016
As we're not writing the setlist I will return after all the ROY shows are completed and add the list, but have no doubt that it will be the same for all shows. The wonderful version of Purple Rain was of course an addition. But must say the far out, jamming rock session in Mean Women Blues had a lot of the audience clapping, foot tapping and chair dancing.
The support act was Demi Louise with Francis on keyboard. She had a very nice voice but we had difficulty hearing the lyrics. Francis was very adept on keyboard and some harmony. There was an intermission after the support act.
The band came on : Eric (rhythm guitar), Chris (keyboards, some guitar), Steve (drums), Cesar (bass guitar), Jess (violin, banjo) and Damien Leith entered last dressed in black shirt, black jacket, black jeans and black shoes The music was amazing as were the vocals. We heard the chilettes doing their stuff too Backing vocals are now in the professional tier as of course is Damien's version of everything performed.
You'll be pleased to hear that Damien was given a gift, a "puppet" of course, a very cute cow (To the handsome, talented performer Damien Leith, you moo-ve me so) and was hung from the mic.
There was a large crowd after the show waiting to meet up with Damien. Damien was his usual generous self and the fans adore him for that.
It was terrific to catch up with Braffy and 2 of her friends, Glawz and 2 of her friends, Princey and Carla, Spud, Mash, Mashe's sister and 2 of Spuds friends, 2Damien fans and all of the D virgins were delighted and amazed by the show.
Was also great catch up with the lovely Eils who was sitting upstairs with her friends (they were the noisy section) and Eric, Chris, Steve, Cesar and Jess.

Friday, 22nd April, 2016 Chatswood Concourse

Not much more to add but Jess also played the Mandolin and from what I gathered from the talk on stage it is an instrument she has only just started playing. She did very well but that's not surprising considering she is an excellent musician.

The news that day of Prince's death prompted Damien and the band to do Purple Rain which was a lovely tribute and a beautiful version.

Damien's voice throughout the whole show was soooo good. Unfortunately the mike sometimes faded in and out a little bit and we couldn't hear him above the band. That may have been because of where we were sitting but I did hear other people say it too, unlike Demi Louise the support act who was so loud that you couldn't understand the lyrics. She was very exuberant and I think overawed by the situation and just needs to learn microphone techniques. It was like she was swallowing the 2 mics she had.

Everyone knows that Hallelujah is Damien's favourite song and it is a rare occasion that it is not sung. It was especially requested by the local Mayor so Damien sang it and it was extraordinary. It was one of those concerts that the audience was chair dancing, singing along, cheering, clapping and enjoying everything. When Hallelujah was sung there was total silence, just Damien and his guitar. The audience were being taken on a journey. So much respect to Damien and the song. It was a very special moment.

5 Damien virgins there as Dawn mentioned. They all loved it including Glawzie's male cousin. His wife was dancing along, jumping up and clapping. They both said that they would be going to more concerts of Damien's. Spud's Aunt had a big grin on her face when I met her after the show, as did Spud's friends.

The show was almost a full house. Downstairs was sold out and upstairs was full as far as you could see but I guess some if the very back rows were empty. It was lovely seeing the balconies all full and the enjoyment of all in them.

I can't say enough how energy driven and awesome this show was.

One of the best. After having the tickets for 8 months and one week it took forever for the show to come around but it was so worth the wait.
