Hi Damien, I hope you are on the mend from the 'cold' you have been experiencing. The grueling promotional schedule while settling in a new baby sure has taken its toll on you, albeit you are doing a fabulous job with it all. Judging by past performance as well as the newly released single and EP, I'm in no doubt that your album is going to be a huge success and, hopefully, you'll be able to relax a bit more then and that Eileen will have you home more as well. Nice for both of you. Re: video.news.com.au/videoplayer?channel=Entertainment+Special&clipid=1094_134033&bitrate=300&format=wmpI've heard you twice now saying you've looked back and believe the judges were correct in their adjudication of your performance of Celebration (words to that effect). I would like you to rethink that critique. Taking into consideration the fact that disco is way down on the list of music styles I like, and the song Celebration even lower, I think you did very well indeed. It's certainly not a style I'd wish for you to do (you're made for finer things), but you did well. It was patently obvious that the audience loved it that's for sure! I've no respect for the judges on any of these types of shows since they are directed to keep the drama up and I despise the way they make personal comments that are irrelevant and which indicate ignorance about true physical appeal. You have a ton of fans who KNOW you to be a gifted artist who could pull off any style if you were of a mind to, a beautiful man both inside and out and let's not forget 'hawt' (which, if you were ever in any doubt of, I'm sure Eileen has managed to convince you otherwise! ). Your stare is enough to melt anyone on the spot. As for fearing judgement from Dicko were you to be facing that this year, I believe you'd have nothing to fear from any credible adjudication of your performances. There may always be worthwhile critiques but never anything of the stupid kind you received from Idol. Be proud of yourself and what you've achieved Damien, just as your wife is and also as we your fans are. Lovingly, Tesa (a.k.a. Leithal Dame)

What a lovely message, Leithal And you are right!! Everytime I watch Celebration (and I do enjoy it!) I can't help but notice how much the crowd was enjoying it!! Mark was the only one sitting still in his seat!!! Damien, You have risen above all of Mark's baseless criticisms before, and we know you will continue to rise!!!

Ditto!! I'd also add to the list of versions that were challenged by some small-minded people BUT ACTUALLY WERE FANTASTIC: "High and Dry" was so cool, in that swinging way. I wish you had put it in your cd. "Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word" was not the most popular song to pick but you so transformed it to an unrecognisable form. You looked so insincerely sorry that it was really amusing. "Celebration" was a lot of fun (although you did look like you were glad it was finished when you stopped - maybe you saw Mark's scowl! You should have been looking into the crowd instead

About "Sorrry seems ..." I actually meant you added a contemporary touch to it and it sounded great (not weirdly unrecognisable! ). LOVED it.

I loved every performance of your's Damien. I was worried that the public wouldn't have our (that's DLO, mine and your's) good taste (insert *cheeky grin*) but they surprised me (not for the first time) by voting you into the the winning place. I so loved your Nessun Dorma, especially at the Opera House. I would be happy to see you attack any song at all. And I must mention how much I love your arrangements too. You recently responded to a question in an interview about where you'd like to be in 5 years time and you wanted a couple/few albums uner your belt but went on to say you would really like to be writing for other singers and writing novels. I hope when you are a famous author and songwriter you'll still perform occassionally cuz we are all in a panic thinking the time might come when we don't actually see and hear you singing anymore (insert *pleading look*) {{XX}}

So please don't stop singing altogther!

*sings* Ceeelebrate good times COME ON!!! Ceeelebrate good times COME ON!!! I don't know how many times I've said this now but I thoroughally enjoyed it, and i still do. It is one song that does not and will not come off my mp3 player and playlists. On the night I still remember exactly what I was doing, what my family were doing. I was bopping up and down on my place on the lounge singing along, Laura was moving her head to the beat. Dad was in his chair twidling his feet and mum was next to me getting her groove thing on haha. The crowd was loving it!! Didn't you see them dancing and jumping up and down getting into the Disco beat? The only people who put a damper on the parade was Mark and Kyle - now I won't go bagging them, but I will say this ... they're utter fools at times, and you did a fantastic job!! Ohh and to add in my agreement - if you do stop releasing music and start writing it for others instead ... you won't shake us off that easily we still expect to have a couple of shows now and then - because we're cool like that and so are you *cheesy grin*

I love it - it always gets me up to dance ... even at school hehe in my free period or whenever the song comes on - gotta get my groove thang on *dances* It may not be some peoples cuppa tea, and thats ok, but it also can be peoples cuppa Don't ever think back and regret it because you never know what the outcome of not doing that song was, you know? Look at you now - Damien Leith Super Star Without Celebration who knows what you would have been. *goes back to singing* Ceeelebrate good times COME ON!!!

Have to agree with all the comments and I have enjoyed this song from the days of Noah . Maybe only females and discerning males can enjoy it, but I certainly lounge danced

I thought Celebration was fantastic - you could feel the celebration in the room, everyone was out of their seat. There was enough energy in that auditorium to power a disco ball - or Mark Holden's hair dryer I thought it was an amazing performance, you worked the crowd so hard, everyone was so into it and participating, even watching at home we had a great time. You were jumping, running through the crowd, climbing onto the judges' platform - amazing! You're only as good as your worst performance, and if that was your worst performance, you're still great! And I have endless respect for you for re-attempting Celebration at Star City - I was lucky to be there that night, the crowd really loosened up, you should do it more often ;D

It wasn't my cup of tea, but I thought that you at least got into it, and certainly didn't deserve the terrible comments from judges. Hey, as we all know, that's history now anyway, and you served up the best possible response to Holden.
