Good morning all

Had a fantastic night at the Opera House. Have only had 4 hours sleep but dragged good self out of bed JUST IN TIME to hear Damien on the radio and his announcing the first play of his first single on radio - *too sweet*. Gosh, I hope his head doesn't hurt as much as mine does!!

OK, havent' read this whole thread, but I need to post!!

I'm so happy for him - the amazing smile he had on his face at the end of the song as the glitter came down!!!! Hugging everyone during the credits!!! My eyes were fixed to the screen and I am glad they kept filming for a long time, and the whole time I was thinking when is he going to get to Eileen?? He was looking for her too, and when he found her and hugged her I thought it was soooo sweet.

So sweet to see him speechless and close to tears. Awwww just wanted to hug him.

I was so happy for Damien, but it was by no means pleasant to see Jess come runner-up. And when Damien went for the second hug with her, I knew he felt the same.

Did you guys see little Jarvis "interviewed" at the Gaelic Club near the start? Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

My only down side is that I couldn't be on-line here to share my thoughts and feelings with you guys last night.

Don't go the the Idol site - it's a train wreck with some very negative and racist threads.

So pooohey to Kara Kidney, Naomi Toy, and all the trolls who were against Damien winning.

Forgive me for resurrecting an old thread, but I couldn't help revisiting that magical night when Damien was announced winner of Australian Idol. I wish I'd been around on this forum earlier, because it's so great to read all of the comments and share in the emotions expressed. I too was literally crying happy tears that evening!
